  1. Of course £50m is enough. What are you suggesting he be valued at ? £70m? £80m?
  2. Agree. Lovren given away. Lallana as well. Luke Shaw was deeply embarrassing by the club only accepting £30m for him. We had our pants well and truly pulled down as he should have been a world record (and not just the then world record for a teenager). Chambers - how ridiculous of us to accept £16m. But then I guess you refer to Clyne and Wanyama - people in their last year of their contract. Much better if we had put our foot down, demanded twice what we got, twice what the market would pay and let them leave for free.
  3. Just because some clubs over pay does not mean all will and that the price can be set because of that.
  4. Quite a lot more (over 28% more) than this seasons PL player of the year.
  5. £38.5m is fine IMO.
  6. Watching Chelsea vs Boro, and not sure would want any Boro.
  7. I don't understand why the press think he is going to sign for an English team. He is a foreigner living in a foreign country. The world is his oyster. Juve apparently want him, and they seem to have plenty of money at the moment. If he has another good season, then the Spanish clubs might want him not least as their CBs are ageing, and it will be cheaper/easier for them to sign him off of us rather than Chelsea.
  8. Lol. CB I know you like to portray yourself as the forum intellect, but when you start playing the man rather than the ball, your self-aggrandisement becomes all too transparent. You seem not to be reading what I wrote, instead coming out with all sorts of fallacies. That's fine, but somewhat a waste of time going over and over them again especially as I thought the last sentence on my previous post was unequivocal. So in the spirit of forum harmony, I think it best to just move on.
  9. Why do you keep bringing her up as being a good custodian? We all are in agreement with that.As for coming back to SMS, yes I did mention it, in the context that as she wasn't going to come back (nor have anything else further to do with SFC), why should she care what Saints supporters think of her? You've already questioned the choice of who she is in talks with, so you need to get off your high horse. But then you go and contradict yourself again - I think she deserves the chance to sell it on before people start questioning her morals. You don't, fine. On the one hand you are going on about her not selling to anyone and that Chinese owners aren't great, then you seem to be saying that she should be able to sell it without people questioning her!! As it is, I am not questioning her morals, far from it. Your comprehension skills are somewhat lacking, which I can only put down to the time of night, as I have not questioned her selling, nor her choice of who she sells to, nor the reasons for doing so.
  10. Oh dear, you read other peoples posts as you want to not as they are written. First off, I said that she was a good owner. Coming back to the stadium???? That's you misunderstanding old boy. As for morals and who she sells to, I didn't question that. I just pointed out that her father's legacy thing was utter nonsense. The fact is he made a good investment in a club that had a good infrastructure and a decent enough stadium. She has carried on looking after that investment looking to sell for the maximum profit. Time will tell about your view that she won't sell to anyone. She appears to be selling to the Chinese which you have been somewhat critical of - bit of a contradiction on your part there.
  11. CB you're mad. Her father owned the club for 14 months before he passed away. He wasn't a Saints supporter before he bought us, and all this guff about her father's legacy is just football supporters' nonsense. That's not to say that she hasn't been a good owner, because in my eyes she has been, even if she is a somewhat reluctant one. But the real legacy of her father is an investment he made paying her out 10 times what he paid. I'm sure she quite likes the way the football supporters hold her father in high esteem, I think most children would, but when she does sell, how often do you really think that she will come back to Southampton or SMS? If never, then what difference does how us supporters feel about her father make to her life?
  12. He was responsible for raising commercial revenue.
  13. Strewth. You ask too much of me!!
  14. FFS, I told you last night about this. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57377-Rumours-of-takeover-investment-interest&p=2485309#post2485309 ITK
  15. Disagree with you about the cups. We won't win the league, but we might win a cup.
  16. I hear a rumour that Gareth Rogers might have met with the Spanish archer. Anyone know anything about that?
  17. Well (IMO of course) they would be the wrong type of buyer then.
  18. The era ended a long time ago.
  19. Are you one of the new breed of supporter?
  20. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4471012/Southampton-target-Marco-Silva-sack-Puel.html and more. I realise that papers tend to copy each other. I guess there's no smoke without fire, and there sure has been an awful amount of smoke in the past couple of days.

Don't care who manages us, so long as I don't have to sit through another game like the Hull one.

To be very brief.... League Cup - obviously had a brilliant run and enjoyed. Europa League - shocking tactics led us to being knocked out FA Cup - let's not even go there. League - the position might be about right, or maybe 1 place higher, but the points tally is pretty dire considering the progress we have made. Boring football for large parts of this season Hull game was the most boring game that I have watched in a long time and I fell asleep at half time. Shame I didn't fall asleep for the rest of the game. We started the season off really badly with some weird formation that no one wanted or could play. So you can look at this season and ask whether the EFL Cup final is enough, as the other cup competitions certainly weren't nor really the league. If we finish 8th/9th then that might gloss over some things. However, I suspect that we will finish bottom half.

I don't see anything wrong with asking the club some question before dropping several hundred Pounds on a season ticket. We are the customer, and in most businesses, a customer is more than entitled to ask what they are paying for and should actually expect a proper/straight/accurate answer. Football for some reason, maybe as it has a largely captive audience, works differently and doesn't really take the concerns of the supporters/customers as seriously as they should.
  25. Who cares? I'm not going to change who I support (so didn't waste my time reading the article).
