  1. Maybe those foreign types lived in Manchester. I heard a lot of Eastern Europeans in Saints colours going to Wembley, as I do going to SMS, and I presume that they might be Polish.
  2. Oh in that case, if they were tanked up, that excuses them from their behaviour. Just a bit of bants and what happens away from home, innit?
  3. Well thank **** we didn't have any of those pathetic anti-Pompey songs.
  4. Some of us sit in the middle of the Kingsland so that we can see both ends of the ground. Some of our eyes aren't as good as they once used to be and when at the Sunderland match (block 41, row E) and Norwich (block 3, row KK) I couldn't see what was going on up the other end!!! So while I was happy standing on the terraces 40 years ago, I am happy to be over the half way line these days. I guess the last time I stood was 28/9/2010 at Huish Park, and it was OK, but being middle aged and a wee bit overweight (but still a fine specimen of a man) a wee sit down is welcome.
  5. So what? Maybe Pompey are bigger, maybe they are smaller. Who cares? I'm not suddenly going to say "Oh Saints are so small, I think I'm going to stop supporting them". I don't care what others think about "my" club. I am Saints. Pure and simple. Always will be. Won't ever have any affection for any other club so any disparaging remark is going to be water off a duck's back.
  6. While some of the comments are OTT, this is not knee jerk. Last season when he came in for Stek there was a complete different feeling to the team. That hasn't been repeated this season.
  7. How about this goalie...? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OigRavYA9g
  8. I am an old fart (well middle aged) and I have done my standing. But I agree with fahajo, that I just wanted to stand yesterday, but because of the people behind me, I didn't.
  9. Interesting JM...these two bits seem pertinent. ============ It is widely believed that this practice is illegal. This is not the case, even within Premier League and Championship grounds. The law only provides that these clubs should provide seats for all supporters, not that supporters must sit on them. and Standing in seated areas, is, however, contrary to ground regulations. For example, the Football League’s model set of ground regulations states: ‘Nobody may stand in any seating area whilst play is in progress. Persistent standing in seated areas whilst play is in progress is strictly forbidden and may result in ejection from the ground’. ============ I think that we all are in favour of having standing areas, and it is ridiculous that one game out of tens/hundreds of thousands has shaped it. Now we all also know that it has little to do with that game, but more to do with tackling hooliganism. So how about having a compromise. Have standing areas for home teams only. Start it off like that, and see how it goes.
  10. Sorry fella, but you are 100% wrong. We have all seater stadia in this country. There is no provision for standing. What people want to do is somewhat irrelevant. That it happens a lot doesn't mean that it is correct.
  11. Possibly not. But if the boot was on the other foot, Man U score, it ruled off and Saints go on to win, then I would have thought that there would be more chance.
  12. Or he could have left Manolo on for the 90?
  13. One thing really ****ed me off. There were many who couldn't get tickets, yet row 2 in block 528 had 18 or 20 empties in a row. I guess that they must have been corporate, but it is really poor that no one was in them.
  14. Just back. Of course I am disappointed that we didn't win, but the pride in the club, the support, the team outweighs the disappointment. A good game. Before the game I said Pogba cost more than our starting line up. Well he really was not at the races. Zlatan - well, they are almost a one man team.
  15. Got half an hour to go before setting off, and TalkShîte has had to be turned off. Lots of clips of José, not a single one of Claude. Man Utd this, Zlatan that. Rooney this. Pogba that. I think we all know the media wanted Liverpool to be there rather than us. One person that hasn't been mentioned at all, is Boufal. I think he is fit and he has the talent to do what ever he wants. I'd love it if we won, just love it. Not just for Saints, but to give one big **** off to the media. See you all there.
  16. Mail (because it is free) saying this is the start of Jose dynasty. Seems that Utd have top half dozen stories but in fairness, we are mentioned but you have to go to the 43rd story.
  17. Neail Ashton - self-aggrandisement personified. Excessively vainglorious. As soon as I saw it was him that wrote it, that was it.
  18. Players meeting the owners to say to give Ranieri the elbow is not great. Owners should have got their balls out and told the players to STFU, do what they are paid to do (ie play and win games) and get on with it. Instead owners have panicked. They might well get a dead cat bounce, or they may do even better. I do remember (some) people questioning why Kante would leave CL football to go to Chelsea with no European football. Well the answer then was rather obvious. While he signed a 5 year contract (I think), one of those years would have no CL football while the other 4 were likely to have it. Stick at Leicester for 5 years, and it would be the exact opposite.
  19. What, this one?
  20. Let's face it, the whole reason Marcus came here in the first place was because it was a good investment opportunity. They have been good owners, and treated their investment well and supported it through out, and its not a surprise that it has (or will) reaped a good return. The problem then is, if/when they do sell up, how is the next owner going to make a return on their investment?
  21. £150k a week - fair plays to him. PSG must have been quite serious. Yet more ridiculous wages though, albeit in context with China....!!
  22. Does Bailly's red card count for EFL Final? Maureen thinks Carrick and Mkhitaryan have "no chance" of playing.

    Injury Watch

Like many others, I do feel that this is all a little hush hush. Must be the most under reported injuries to such an important player for us that I can ever remember. And the training camp - you might have thought that the club would have liked to have been pushing out how well Caceres is fitting in. But nothing. One might hope that it is all a ploy and Virgil is going to be fit, but.....
  24. My Mrs is on side knowing that it doesn't happen everyday. I'm taking a blanket and pillow so the nipper can sleep on the way back. School know he is mad keen Saints and that he is going to have a late one, but so be it.
