The problem with Yoshi has always been those short misplaced passes that invariably have led to a goal being scored. He seems to have largely cut that out. His strengths to me are his speed and his heading. As a person and a professional, looking from the outside in, I am not sure you could ask any more of a player and that, above anything else, is why I have always liked him regardless of those mistakes.

Hmmm, sponsoring the team. How can £5m a year (isn't that the figure) to the club's coffers possibly compare to giving a £10 to supporters?

Not wanting to go into revisionism, but on curent form, I do not think that Fonte would be displacing either Stephens or Yoshida.

He is insurance. Expensive but necessary. Of course cover for injuries but maybe also as it was not possible to tell how Jack Stephens would progress.

I am going to renew, but my love for the game is waning. Love Saints though, always will. My 40th year of watching them, who know, might be the last as well. I also don't really like having to renew the ST without knowing who is going to be playing for us. Depressing seeing all our good players going every summer. Maybe my time is up and its for the next generation to take over. Can't go with my old man anymore as his dementia is too far advanced, and that was one of the reasons for renewing.

Not sure the Dutch FA could afford him. Of course he could take a massive pay cut for the honour of managing his country, but that is rare these days so doubtful it would happen.

NUFC - a belated welcome. AFAI am concerned, I am more than happy to have any football fan post on here, obviously as long as they aren't here to just take the ****, which you clearly aren't. When you are a decent but nothing special sort of player, and you come back and think you are the dog's, then I imagine it is quite easy to lose the favour of your team mates.
