  1. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-3992030/FA-tough-Chelsea-Eddie-Heath-child-sex-abuse.html Says Chelsea paid last year. If I am honest, they could have turned around and said it was a different company, different club, different era and that they weren't paying. OF course the payment is to save their name being besmirched, and I am afraid to say that that is wrong. SKD - the loan player has a bit of a history of beating people up, but didn't know about Bedford Place - not sure whether he played for us once more because of that or because he was shiit.
  2. Not sure what value you are attaching to Mané - is it £30m + 20%, £34.5m +20% or £38.5m +20%? I imagine that it is the £34.5m one, bringing things closer to £40m. The add ons are apparently very easy to meet bringing things up to a supposed £38.5m, and are not based on his performance but rather the club's. Then there is the fact that it was cash up front and not staggered payments (apparently). And then who knows what else is in the contract? What sell on fee there might be, or anything else.
  3. Ah well, then that is VERY different. I had imagined that this was all done 20-30+ years ago.
  4. Looking at Chelsea, so as to avoid being accused of bias towards Saints, I look at the timing of things. If the people involved in the disgusting attacks and subsequent payments, were there and it all took place before Abramovich's watch, then can the modern day club really be held accountable? A different era with people who aren't involved in any way with the club today, and I never go into collective responsibility. This is by no means an attempt to ignore the seriousness of what has happened, far from it. If it was up to me, this sort of thing would be a capital crime.
  5. Is it correct that, save for Austin's Everton goal, we haven't scored a header, or is it only not scoring a header from a set piece?
  6. Non sequitur
  7. I'm getting really bored of Arsenal fans and the media saying....oh we made 10 changes. Martinez Gibbs Paulista Holding Jenkinson Elneny Coquelin Iwobi Ramsey Reine-Adelaide Perez Subs used Oxlade-C Xhaka Maitland-Niles Martinez, who they bought years ago for £1.25m might be weak, but the back four was quite strong. Paulista cost them £12.75m, Holding cost them £2.5m and Jenkinson and Gibbs are hardly novices. Elneny cost £11m and Coquelin is first choice Iwobi is a youth team player who has progressed and who has played 9 times in the PL this season (and not as a 5 min sub) and is a fairly well established player. Ramsey is Ramsey and not a fringe player. Reine-A cost them over £2m but is a fringe player, and Perez, well he cost them £17m!! And let's not talk about the cost of 2 of the subs Ox £12m and Xhaka £35m. So while they did make 10 changes, you can hardly say that it was a **** poor team on paper.
  8. Of all the football players that have ever been associated with Saints, and without wanting to appear to be being rude, I have absolutely zero interest in Ranger and what he does and who he does it for.
  9. What, blud, do you mean, blud? Blud.Blud. Blud. Blud. Blud.
  10. I guess the club feels differently to me....but of all the players we have, well maybe Cuco as well, if he left in January, then I wouldn't be upset. However, we bought him for a reason and that reason hasn't really materialised. So one hopes that last night's goal will fire something up and he can show us why we signed him. Maybe this is harsh, but he isn't first choice for PL games when he really should be making himself so.
  11. Do SWT ever run on time (apart from the 1905 to Weymouth last Sunday with standing room only)? The last few times I have taken one after a game at SMS, they have been so late, that I have managed to catch the preceding train rather than wait 30 minutes at Soton Central.
  12. Somewhat default position as well. Happy with the win, and let the feeling last over night, and then return to pessimism. That way one isn't disappointed when things do go belly up.
  13. But we only won because of a weakened Arsenal team. well that's according to talkShiite.
  14. The whole footballing press are selling him to Man U or Liverpool. Have the big European teams not got pet journalists in the UK?
  15. Look on the bright side, should be OK when we don't beat HBS
  16. Anyone's stream showing the game over yet?
  17. Close
  18. Don't mind them shooting from outside the box like that. Only Coutinho and maybe Hazard you have to be careful of.
  19. Sims looks alright.
  20. urr 5 mins left
  21. under the cosh a bit!
  22. Hope Classie can push on from this.....
  23. Good man. Always pays to take tips off of Glasgow.
  24. I disagree a little......of course there is the money side of things, but his moving to Chelsea does make sense. Over the next 4 years, Leicester are likely going to be in CL once (this year), while Chelsea are likely to be in it 3 times (ie all but this year). And really, you need to strike while the iron is hot and if your status is sky high one season, it may well not be the next.
  25. I find it curious that supposedly Barca send scouts to watch Cedric when he was off games.
