  1. None of whom wanted to be here.
  2. The problem with passing stats, is that it doesn't really take into account what sort of pass they are. I for some reason had the EFL L'pool Spurs game on, and when Vic came on, not only did he run around like a headless chicken and get caught out of position an awful lot, his passes in general were the short sideways ones.
  3. I maintain that it is hard to compare two such different players. Wanyama is of course much more physical. Not many are 6'2 tall and the same width. Romeu is to me a more intelligent player (although I know others will disagree) and a more incisive passer of the ball. But as CW says, the attitude of OR is better.

    Stewards

I guess that's one way of looking at things. But I saw disabled fans faces light up when they bumped into him and said hello - it seems to be part of the match day experience for them. Might not be important to you or me, but to them it adds things to the day. As for continually being told to sit down, well that's the law isn't it? Rather than call him a jobsworth, I guess it would be better to call for safe standing.

    Stewards

I know that if anything is ever written about the stewards, it is usually negative, but something different. Was in the Northam last night, as usually in Kingsland (much better as I can see both ends there as my eyesight sucks) Anyway, apart from the stewards kicking some tool out of Block 40 for standing - seemed a tad harsh if you ask me seeing as half the rest of the stand was standing but guess he was being overly dismissive of the stewards - there was one steward who seemed absolutely brilliant. Mark 119. Maybe it is because I have a disabled kid that it struck me so, but the way he treated and greeted people both with special needs as well as those without was really good to see. Always seemed to have a smile on his face and did the most important thing of making time for everyone. Probably not a thread that will interest many, but sometimes its just good to show your appreciation of a job well done (and hopefully the club reads these boards).
  6. Tasty goal.....http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/graziano-pelle-scores-goal-worthy-9135329
  7. Different end though, so we might be OK!
  8. Can someone tell me whether that was basically Sunderland's first choice team? If so, then they really are in trouble.
  9. Having lived and worked in France for a number of years when I was younger, I can wholly understand why he says "first time". He is translating from French to English, as opposed to thinking in English which is what you do when you are fluent, so presume he took in this instance and translated "la premiere mi-temps". Not a problem for me, and Koeman who few would criticise over his language skills, also made mistakes (not that I would really call them mistakes as the meaning was/is clear enough) of this ilk. And frankly, so long as the results on the pitch are good ie he can communicate with the players, I couldn't care less what his language skills are like. Quite refreshing to not have to listen to a manager pontificate about things.
  10. That's possibly the main reason I am going, and hope that Olomola starts.
  11. In all honesty, not sure he would get away with being Billy Big Swallocks as someone like Virgil would tell him straight. 6 years of an amazing journey #saintsfc DESTROYED in 1 hour !!!. Wonder what he thinks of his journey since leaving? Guess he found himself a Mrs (something that I thought he would never do), so at least he has that.

  13. That comes down to attitude - pessimism vs optimism. Negativity vs positivity. I think that most on here are just so bored of "pessimistic conjecture". "Optimistic conjecture" is much much easier to live with.
  14. He used a translator for a question after the City game, but his English is getting better.
  15. You seem to forget Hojbjerg
  16. Depends how close to fitness our defence is, but presuming that Cedric and either Bertrand or Targett are nearing fitness.....Can see a lot of players being rested what with 2 big games coming up. McCarthy Martina Yoshida Stephens McQueen Reed JWP Hesketh JRod Olomola Boufal If Bertrand is fit, maybe he can start to get a bit of match practice.
  17. I keep an eye on RedCafe and they thought it quite sweet as well.

  19. I always think that Redmond is woefully under rated. If he was called Redmondinho, the press would be singing his praises. But no, he has been categorised (whether true or not) as a player that struggled to get into a relegated Norwich side and was laughed off (maybe rightly so) when his new manager said he was going to be Henry Mk2. I see quite a lot of similarities between him and Mr £50m Sterling, but I am not sure that I would have the £50m man over the £10m man. In fact if things carry on as they are, he really should replace him in the England squad, but we know that he won't due to the respective clubs.

  21. Just wondering why Hojbjerg didn't start.
  22. Excellent - 5 mins for us to score.
  23. THis is the time in the game where I seem to go walk about as can't sit and watch any more.
  24. Let's not write him off (not that you are) as many did with Mané when he started. Yes he c*cked up, but its very early days.
