  1. Multiply the top and bottom part of the fraction 3/4 by 25 and that will give you 75/100. Same thing except 3/4 is the simplest form when reducing fractions.
  2. All these people saying £25, £30 etc etc. Look how much a season ticket to Bayern Munich is - about £100. Having said that, I thought the prices at Barca were pretty high: http://www.fcbarcelona.com/info-tickets/football-ticket-prices
  3. Aaaah. The Mayan prophecy predicted this.
  4. Yuk. PST are asking the supporters to take a loan out with these guys so that they can then pay for Pompey. So they are basically asking that a lot of their supporters take on personal debt, no doubt one that many can't repay.
  5. I read the opening post and thought that it might be an idea, until I read the replies. Then I saw the error in my thinking. Possibly, like I did, the OP was getting Ramirez confused with Rodriguez
  6. What a load of tosh. We have one of the best infrastructures in the country. Mindset as fans???? You say they are loyal, passionate and not fair weather, so what more do you want? JCLs, prawn sandwich munchers, those that come from the opposite end of the country? And looking at the PL, are we any different from: OPR, Reading, Stoke, Norwich, Wigan, Swansea, Fulham, WBA to mention a few? And of the others like Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle - what really is their difference save for bigger stadia? You seem to be linking this all to our lack of success this season, and maybe the thread title will turn out to be prophetic come the end of the season, but not for the reason you give. As for your last bit about the PL not feeling right and that it is shallow/hollow.emotionally cold, well that's something totally different. I agree that the money involved in it has ruined it, and yes, I far preferred going to the Dell in the 70s/80s on a Saturday/Wednesday, but maybe that is my memory embellishing how good things were. I loved the Cup games as well and those European nights were special, rather than being overly common now and really the main goal of clubs. Certainly we were successful in those days given our meagre set up. In those days football still seemed to be a sport rather than a business. I know a lot of people who have become so disillusioned that they have gone from owning a fair chunk of Saints (pre take over by Lowe) to giving up on a season ticket to now not even bothering to go. But that's the older generation and there are plenty of new people to take their place, although I fear for them what with the prices involved these days. Alpine, maybe you are going this way as well. They still love the club, but football has lost its attraction. If I am honest, having said you spoke a lot of tosh, while I still disagree over the infrastructure bit, I have to agree with you about the PL and I can see myself in a few years not keeping my season ticket and basically giving up on the game. As an aside, I would reorganise things totally for our Champions League entrants. Winner and runners-up to enter, and winners of the FA & League Cup to get the other two qualifying places. As things are in the PL, half the league is trying to get to 4th place and then cash in on the big bucks of CL nights and that to me, along with Sky, is what has ruined things. At least if the Cup competitions gave something to the winners (rather than the ridiculous situation of rewarding teams that finish 3rd and 4th) that might make those two (or at least one) wonderful competitions worthwhile.
  7. You should never reheat a soufflé
  8. I kept topping mine up (every 50 miles or so) with coolant, booked in for a service but 3 days before, the thing went caput as water pump gave up.
  9. Pay cut? Not sure what he was on, but damn, the situation is a little bit, umm, concerning - give the man what he wants, on a short term deal.
  10. I was wondering whether we are going to be able to keep a clean sheet this season.
  11. Wonder if PCC only agreed this because they never expected PST to come out top. Wouldn't be surprised if there was some stipulation that PST could not meet that led to the offer being withdrawn.
  12. Would be funny.....but (if true) you have to ask why? Cloterill showed what he was really about after he left Poopey, as did Grant, so these managers of "plucky Poopey" are just carrying on their **** job. Appy won't be any different.
  13. How do you know if you weren't in the concourse?
  14. We all know where our failings in the closed season signings were. If we know that, then I have a wee feeling that NA does as well!!! I suspect that things didn't work out as expected, such as Buttner.
  15. I generally never buy one, but I did for the Villa game as it was my boy's first game. Of the 76 pages, only 13 or so were adverts so it's not that full of them.
  16. Am I right in reading the FL Rules that they say that Chin cannot own the club having already put them into administration on two occasions?
  17. The thing I was looking forward to most this season was to see how RL faired. Very happy at the moment. I think that it is more important than just the job he is doing for us, as it shows that British "journeymen" from lower leagues can cut it in the top league and I suspect that on current form, he would get in at least half the PL teams (although I realise that I might be looking through rose tinted glasses). I think it important that the top clubs actually look at lower league English players, rather than automatically look overseas. For one it just sends all the money out of our game and into some other league, and then of course it doesn't help the English national side, which seemingly isn't overly important. Saints aren't really any better than any other team, as we had 5 English players starting on Saturday and a Scot, with another Englishman coming on as a sub. I don't buy the argument that English players are all too expensive - why should they be? Under EU law, there is no restriction of trade restricting the nationality of the match day squad, so English players aren't in any higher demand. Chelsea and Arsenal are well known to have started games with no Englishmen at all.
  18. Umnmmm, this Stan clapping on 19 mins. Never knew about it, and didn't hear them clapping.
  19. He counted empty boxes prob because it was so damned obvious that there were empty ones
  20. Is this "extreme interest" "in their on-pitch prowess" from male flight attendants code words for something sexual?
  21. Lallana for me. I though Yoshida read the game so much better than defenders that we have recently had, and seems to have a really good head on his shoulders. Clyne was good second half. Ramirez - looking forward to seeing more of him. Mayuka might also be interesting. And good to see RL bagging goals. Well done to all of them......listening to Talk****e on way to the game, they were mocking us. Hopefully today's result is the first of many so that they journos can shove it where the sun don't shine.
  22. Usually I give up because I run out of fags and can't be bothered to go and get some more, although this time it was a cold and the Mrs nagging me. I enjoy smoking and do/did a pack a day, but I realise it's not good for me. I pretend I can't afford it but I can. I do like my kids though and do want to see them grow old. But yes, I do find giving up very easy - as you allude to, it's just as easy to start again. (Wouldn't mind one now, guess I'll just have to have a drink instead).
  23. It was this evening.....I am rather hoping that the neighbour at the bottom of the drive will have his nicked before mine, as his getaway is easier than me (although he has a ****tier car than me). Also just around the corner, is a house with 3 BMs lined up facing the road. Surely they would go first.
  24. Can't wait till Saturday.....a rite of passage....taking my 6yo son to his first ever game.
  25. Non smoker - filthy habit. Haven't had one since Monday. Sort of my ritual smoke for a few months, give up for a year or so, smoke for a few months, give up etc etc.
