  1. There's too much live football on tele these days. There was a time when the cup final was just about the only match that you ever saw live.
  2. Correct. The game was drawn but Saints progressed on penalties.
  3. That's true. I'm certainly a lot happier than I used to be.
  4. Nah, he's cup-tied and would be of no use to us in our cup run.
  5. It's sad that Markus could not be here to see it.
  6. Some of the extra visitors may well see what a great experience it is to come to a Saints game and come again more regularly?
  7. Home draw, suits me. I don't mind who we got.
  8. Home draw, that's all I wanted. Who have we got again?
  9. We need him on the bench if Davis is playing.
  10. I think it depends on the outcome of Barnard's local difficulties. If we lose him for a couple of months things could look different.
  11. That's how I feel about him.
  12. Home draw please, my daughter and her family are coming to stay that weekend and she's only coming for the football.
  13. I once asked Richard Hall if the crowd made any difference. He said that most of the time he was concentrating so hard that he did't notice us.
  14. I was just having a dig. They should change the FA Cup rules such that if the host club doesn't get paid the ticket money then the away team forfeit the tie.
  15. Some of us don't need magic charms or potions.

  17. It's showing as operating on thewebsite: http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/en/s/timetable/details?id=1&return=false&callingPage=t I think it's only partial closures to some services and this website is supposed to be up to date. Aren't they working on the tunnel?
  18. By the way, have we been paid the money due on the ticket sales for the (illegal) 4-1 win yet?
  19. That's not how I remember it. The image-rights claims are subject to another pre-existing court investigation and could not therefore be considered in this case. There was no mention of them being 'not valid'.

    Alcatraz

I went a couple of times in the early 80s when I did some work for Dolby. My missus came for the first visit and spent the day doing the Bay tours whilst I was working. I think she went to Alcatraz twice, well worth a visit. We hired a car and did 1800 miles in 8 days. Over the Bridge to Muir Woods for the redwoods, 300ft high, south to the Mariposa Grove for the giant sequoias, Carmel and Pebble Beach are a must as is Yosemite, fabulous place. You can get to Reno & Carson City in Nevada. I always wanted to go to Bodie, the ghost town, but didn't have time. North to the wineries in Sonoma and Simi might be a laugh. Sausalito is very twee but it is a centre of the gay community. All this is more for touring with a loved one but I'm sure you and your mates will have a ball.
  21. Just for you: www.google.co.uk HTH
  22. I'm afraid that when it comes to buying quality players Saints are at the bottom of the food chain, snapping up the crumbs from the rich men's tables. It's not until the Premier League teams sort out their striking options that the Championship get their turn and then we get to fight over the leftovers with the other League 1 outfits. Our financial clout might get us a bite at the next level up, but I suspect that it won't be until the end of the window that we hear any substantial news.
  23. Bless, he's got to have something to cling to or he might go insane. (Corp that is, not mog)
  24. Indeed. That's why the red card offence was changed from 'foul and abusive language' to 'offensive, abusive, or insulting language or gestures'. It is quite possible for one player to swear at another, but if no offence is taken then an offence may not have been committed. On the other hand, you can insult an opponent without swearing.
  25. If he's out of contract then can't he join at any time, even outside the transfer window?
