Dismantle it right down to the metal disc itself. Scratch a screwdriver across it a few times. Then use it as a coaster and never let it out of your sight. You should be ok. The magnets are quite cool though.

I'm off to my old university college tomorrow for a reunion dinner, class of '68 and all that. I've dropped in to M&S to get a larger pair of trousers for my dinner jacket or else I won't be able to eat anything. It'll be good to catch up with all my old mates again. They are all respectable upright citizens now, county-court judges, film producers, captains of industry and all that sort of thing, yet I remember them as a load of 19-year old ****heads. The frightening thing is the way that the buildings won't have changed a bit, but all the bodies will have withered and faded, those of us that are left. I'm quite looking forward to it.

I agree completely. In the early seventies we went to Butser Hill for an afternoon. The next time we went there were double yellow lines everywhere and a pay & display car park. This countryside belongs to us, not some wonkers in the Council.

Almost anyone is a better right back than Lloyd James. He was one of the most ineffective that I have ever seen in that position.
-
It wouldn't have mattered if we had signed a replacement in the summer.
-
I think he was played out of position at RB which was not really fair to him. In midfield he sometimes looked a lot better. Let's see how he gets on at other clubs before we pass final judgment.

Just have your website in China or Taiwan. They ignore copyright there.

They used to have a good deal at the weekend on German trains provided they were local trains only. My son and his student friends once went from Braunschweig to Austria for the skiing and it only cost a few Pfennigs.

For some reason some people like him, but he does talk an awful load of ********. His proposals for taxing pension contributions are the most idiotic I have ever heard.

Which date is that this year?
-
Me too. I'd like to think that we could do better.

Thanks Ron, I was hoping I cold rely on you. I wonder what effect that had at the end of the season?

You always start from the back and work forwards. We were shipping goals until now so it's important to steady the defence and stop the rot. Then the confidence will improve and eventually the goals will come. This is going to take some time and I, for one, have just about written off this season. If all goes well we may have a chance of outpacing all the others but I'm not as confident as I was after Bristol Rovers.

The one on the left of their penalty area. I'll look it up again, if you like. He was done for pace and just hacked the fellow down from behind. I can't remember the other team right now but I'm sure somebody will remind me.

Just wait until you're old and married to a granny. Luckily your eyesight is usually failing by then.
-
He always tried to cross from just over the halfway line so the forwards were usually getting very poor service, if the ball actually reached them. I can't remember many assists? Defensively his postioning was very poor and he was also very slow. I can never forgive him for giving away that penalty.

There's a long, long way to go until the end of the season. The table will look completely different then.

James's delivery was almost always woeful.

We agree! I have always said the same about calculators too.

All strikers go through lean spells. To talk about getting rid of him after a handful of games is a bit premature, don't you think?
-
There are plenty of them about now. I think there's a gradual programme of updating the pumps. It means that they can reduce the staff at the tills.

I agree. And the quality of the posts is atrocious. I expect more for my fiver.

Computers have absolutely no place in the classroom. There is too much dependence on technology. It replaces the ability to think and analyse based upon fundamental knowledge and first principles.

These tables don't include the effects of employers' payroll taxes. In the UK you must also consider the employers' NI contributions which are just as much a part of an individual's tax as PAYE. They are a tax on your salary which is taken before you even see it.

That really is a stupid statement. If you want people to work hard then you have to let them keep their earnings. If not, then they will just leave the country.
