  1. Nah, it'll be a fix-up. One party (probably the Conservatives) will field an eejit so that the other gets a clear run.
  2. No, strikes are outlawed in our world.
  3. How would that help? I do agree that the system of rail privatisation is one big nonsense. How can you have competition when one train can't overtake another? The system of through-ticketing is a complete nightmare and you have the crazy situation where an operator can't fix signage to a station wall because they don't own the building.
  4. Is that the flight that lands in Moscow?
  5. Nothing on the OS yet.....
  6. I've never read such wool-woofter nonsense: 'What the data shows, therefore, is not that public sector workers are overpaid, but that some private sector workers are severely underpaid.' -????? 'Labour’s increased spending also addressed workforce shortages in schools and the NHS, where more staff were needed to raise educational standards and care for an ageing population.' - neither of these has happened. I could go on all day.
  7. If any member of my family was threatened or hurt, I'd probably inflict it myself.
  8. It's the law of averages.
  9. There is a small item in the Daily Mail today saying that we are going to sign him permanently in January. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1327869/Liverpool-set-reward-rising-star-Martin-Kelly-new-year-deal.html#comments
  10. Get eaten alive by midges.
  11. No, that's king prawn with ginger and water chestnuts.
  12. Is Mao dead? He's been very quite lately. All I can think of is Choo en Lai, but I suspect that was some time ago.
  13. I must have slept through it. Did it rain?
  14. I'm very pleased for you both. Have they found some other mug for Jockland?
  15. The last couple have been very good, to be fair.
  16. St. Mary's is more than adequate for the next few years and if we succeed beyond our wildest dreams then it can be expanded.
  17. Good luck to him. At this stage of his career he needs to be playing regularly.
  18. I bet you don't get many of those to the fiver.
  19. http://www.thinkgeek.com/brain/whereisit.cgi?t=signal+booster&x=0&y=0 http://www.3g.co.uk/PR/Nov2010/rural-3g-signal-booster-goes-on-sale.html It might be worth trying a separate aerial (antenna in US speak): http://www.cell-phone-accessories.com/nokia-n8-antennabooster-glassmount.html This is designed for modems nut might also work with phones. Give them a ring? http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/3g-high-gain-directional-antenna-universal-p18963.htm Good luck, let us know what happens!
  20. We had a referees' meeting with Gordon Strachan when he was still manager and I asked him if he felt that we should expand St. Mary's. His view at the time was that there was no need. Interestingly, even then he used the word 'they' when referring to the club.
  21. Minimum £10, seniors and children may be lower by mutual agreement, 50 complimentaries per club, passes for directors, football scouts, press, representatives of the FA etc., 2 for the FA sponsors. Between half-time and the end of the match the Home club must provide the Visiting club with a statement of the total admission and gate receipts. Round 3 is £15 minimum!
  22. I still have the copy of 'La Stampa' that I bought when it was announced (I am learning italian, slowly). 'La Juventus si fa lo stadio all'inglese' - Juventus are building an english-style stadium. The first without barriers, 40,200 capacity, €105m. ( 21st November 2008 ) .
  23. Hmm, more stands to close in round 1 of the FA Cup.
  24. Indeed, I've just looked up its origin. I didn't know he had a son, Pantagruel.
  25. Indeed. Look what they said about Richard III.
