  1. Oh dear. Obviously education was, for starters.
  2. Some of those 32583 will have been yours....
  3. I've just flown with Flybe and I read throug their FAQs. They mantion a 24 hour grace period for changing a name. After that it's 25£, I believe.
  4. That would be entirely appropriate, and beyond question.
  5. I don't fly back until tomorrow afternoon. I shall be thinking of him.
  6. We've got rid of a lot of very ordinary players, in my opinion. We have had to buy a completely new team.
  7. Probate does not affect the running of the company which is legally a separate body. There is nothing to stop the Chief Executive/Managing Director from carrying on as before. The same happens with any company when a shareholder dies, which happens quite often.
  8. We should not be afraid of anybody. They should be scared of us.
  9. This Messier? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Messier
  10. I always go to the toilet at half-time but last Saturday I never had the chance. I think that's why we lost. It's lucky we didn't win 9-0 or I would have had to go without a half-time pee for the rest of the season.
  11. I didn't see him in his usual seat but absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
  12. Oh, the english version of the MALI site says 'Ms Katharina Liebherr' and the german 'Frau Katharina Liebherr' so we don't actually know if she is married.
  13. My thoughts too - not for me, you understand but for a close friend. She is certainly rich which is the first criterion.
  14. I'm with you, Arizona.
  15. I'm not sure what to think or feel. I lost my business partner to cancer at 64, my wife lost her sister at 54. When you get to my age, and Markus was only a year older than me, you become more and more accustomed to sudden losses and having to adapt to them. The world will keep on turning, the sun will still rise tomorrow, and yet somehow everything seems to have lost some of it's colour, some of it's hopefulness. They say that nobody's indispensable, but I can't really believe that about Markus. With hard work and fortitude we shall rise again but as the Greeks used to say "the gods laugh at those who make plans".
  16. This not just for us, the fans, it also would send a message to all who were close to Markus showing how much we all respected and loved him. It would confirm to them what a great club this is, and how Markus had made the right choice in buying us.
  17. Gentlemen, please have some decorum. It's disappointing to have the game postponed and to lose the cost of the travel, but this is part of following football. I'm sure most of us have traveled to a ground only to have the game called off at the last moment, be it Newcastle on New Year's Day or Chelsea after an electrical storm. We even had a game at the Dell called off because the fire hoses were frozen, if I remember correctly. It's part of life, and certainly part of football. Perhaps we could stop thinking about ourselves for a few moments and think of others.
  18. The club would be a separate company, managed by Cortese. I am not privy to the details of ownership of that company but it will carry on operating with its own assets and funding whoever owns it, be it trust fund, holding company or individual person. Rest assured that someone of Markus's ability and experience will have set in place measures for just such a sad eventuality, as should we all.
  19. If the club feel it's appropriate, then I for one will respect their decision. I'd like to thank MK Dons and the FA for their dignified approval.
  20. Can we petition for Britannia Road or Marine Parade to be renamed 'Markus Liebherr Way'?
  21. Dear Markus, before you came to our rescue Southampton had never heard of you. Now it shall never forget you. I shall always remember you smiling. May you rest in peace.
  22. My feelings entirely, CB
  23. I see that the club has mentioned a 'memorial service'. Is it a daft idea to suggest that this be held at the stadium?
  24. I'm sure that's the question that's on all our minds, but perhaps a few days of mourning and quiet reflection would be appropriate. To answer your question, I was told just after the takeover that there was a trust fund set up for just such an eventuality which contained a sizeable sum, although funding a return to the Premiership might be beyond it. It's down to all who support Saints to pull together in these sad times.
