The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Whitey Grandad replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
"Greed is good" -
George Best once had a bet with someone that he could go through a whole fame using only his left foot. He did and he scored with it.
-
An interesting distinction. If a person has one foot weaker than the other then that foot could be described as 'weak'. The other foot might not necessarily be stronger, it could also be weak, or even weaker perhaps.
-
We lived near Harwich in the 1950s and early 1960s. My dad used to go and watch Ipswich home games. The manager was a certain Alf Ramsey.
-
Nobody at this level should have a weak foot.
-
It's called "laying it on a plate". In this case with a side order of chips and peas and a glass of rose to was it down. There is no need to control it. Just put it in the virtually empty net.
-
I understand that and I am prepared to wait and see but in the first half against Wrexham we surrendered the initiative to them and this was from a team playing at home in front of a packed crowd. It's a negative attitude and one that I don't like. To do the same at Northampton was asking for trouble. Fortunately it worked out OK but it was needless.

It's not the responsibility of the player making the cross to deliver it on a plate. The atta kernel has a clear view and needs to adjust his run so as to meet the ball wherever it might appear. As has been said above, he went for it with his wrong foot and got himself tangled up.
-
So what's your point, Michael?
-
But we don't play with a midfield.
-
I already had mine.
-
That just shows that the Stats are misleading. I'm surprised anybody takes any notice of them.
-
You can't blame BBD for that. He got a pass across avoiding both the covering defender and the goalkeeper.
-
But since it's Downs it's not an obvious goal scoring opportunity.
-
The draw for the next round is tomorrow on Sky Sports from 7:20 pm if anybody is interested or cares.
-
Leaving midfield empty.
-
At least we're not Ipswich.
-
And we can't meet Portsmouth in a later round.
-
Five at the back is the problem. Such a stupid idea.
-
We did just enough. But no more.
-
Kicking through their player.
-
I thought Ali Dia was better.
-
What on earth have we bought?
-
It's been that way for a long while now.
