Whitey Grandad replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Do you mean 'invest' or do you mean 'subsidise'? I see precious little scope for a return on investment. -
That's a bit more than I was prepared to pay to be honest.

For a moment there I thought it was the start of a joke 😒 -
"Hoist with his own petard" is a quote from Hamlet. In this instance a Petard is a small explosive device, a type of bomb. The name ultimately derives from the French for fart, as you have said.

I have a through lounge/diner/conservatory and a few years ago I had an air conditioner installed in the conservatory. If I keep two doors closed I can cool down most of my downstairs. Last night I slept downstairs on my settee. Woke up about 06:30 for the third time.

My little sister was born there in 1955. And my mother took three driving tests there before giving up driving. My dad worked for the railways so we often went there or through there. LNER stands for 'Late and Never Early Railway'

We'll be calling him Tender Eckert next.

Just as long as they're wearing an Eastleigh shirt.

Would that be Ben Gunn?
-
Is anyone secretly hoping that he gets injured?

We've all been in training.
