  1. I agree with both of you. It's much too soon to read too much into the low crowd figures but if I were running the club I would be feeling a little bit nervous.
  2. I'll say it again. They are not kids, they are inexperienced footballers, but the main point is that the great unwashed are being asked to pay high prices to watch them learn their trade, and when they have they will be sold off to the highest bidder. It won't affect my support. I'm old enough to have seen it all before and I shall still be there through thin and thin. It's the 10,000 who have found other ways to spend their hard-earned pennies that we should start to be concerned about.
  3. And how big were the crowds?
  4. But that is my point. We are charging top prices for a second-string act. Watching last Saturday was worse than any of the games that I saw at SMS last season and, before you ask, I only missed two: Bristol City and WBA.
  5. ... or to watch a bunch of cheap understudies. What they want is the main act. It's like buying a ticket for a top rock group and finding the stage filled by a tribute band.
  6. I'm prepared to give him a chance but I'm hardly excited and I don't think that he will be pulling in the crowds. What we really need is a couple of full-backs!
  7. Saint Robbie, I'm completely with you on this one. I will be there with my support just as I would be if it were my own kids out there, but there was a whole league of difference between the teams last saturday.
  8. .... and they had to change their manager to do it.....
  9. Only 2 of them are teenagers. The Middlesborough team yesterday averaged 22.
  10. The loan period goes on for another month so there's no guarantee after tomorrow that nobody is going to leave.
  11. Here's a thought for you all: Leicester have 10 points from 4 games and won 4-0 away yesterday. It could so easily have been us in their situation and with the same manager. Would anybody swap places with them?
  12. The ratio is usually given as one goal from every 6 chances. And I agree with Arizona, James looked out of position at right back. They were swarming all over him first half.
  13. I'm with you on this one. Championship, my rrrrrr.
  14. That's a very perceptive analysis. Why is it that you can see it but others can't?
  15. First division, maybe. (new money)
  16. I agree. I lost count of the number of times I saw us attacking with two wide men, DMG alone in the middle, and there were 7 Blackpool players defending in a semicircle based on the edge of their penalty area. Our midfield took an age to get up in support.
  17. Oh, if only it were that simple
  18. I don't think that Plan A didn't work. It was more a case of not playing it as well as we have been recently. To be fair to him, Gillett never tried to hide and was always looking for the ball. Somehw the zip and verve was missing today.
  19. You're right, of course. I forgot that he was on the pitch. He will be 19 on the 8th November. Oops.
  20. Did anybody else notice that Hammil's substitution went wrong? The substitute ran on the pitch and the stadium announcer told us all about it but the referee was the last to know. He had to ask a Blackpool player to find out who was going off.
  21. A fair summary IMO.
  22. That was handball in anybody's language. I looked straight to the assistant expecting him to flag. I think he left it to the referee. There were other handballs that he gave that were less 'deliberate'.
  23. It was the first game of the season and we let in 4 goals. Should everybody have cheered?
  24. I quite like the look of that. Let's forget today and get on with the next game! That's on SKY too.
  25. Can we please stop calling them kids? They're all over 20 (apart from White). Most of the army is younger.
