  1. We all know that opposition fans count for nothing.
  2. They were making those runs all through the game and kept being ignored. In the end I wondered if it was a deliberate tactic to try and pull their team out of shape.
  3. That was a stupid, petulant yellow card to get. Smallbone too.
  4. Good point. Our possession based principle tires out our own players as much as the opposition.
  5. Yes, of course he should.
  6. We need someone to play as a ‘false Aribo’ whilst he’s away at the AFCON.
  7. From The Times this morning, ”West Ham want to offload Said Benrahma, the winger, and Danny Ings, the forward, whose wages of about £100,000 a week could be an issue for buyers.”
  8. Why did he assume that they’d have to chat about politics?
  9. Nobody complained on Tuesday when their keeper missed a kick and let Edozie in. We've got ourselves into the ridiculous situation where we try to involve our own keeper in more touches of the ball that the opposition’s. This is going to go wrong far too often.
  10. He should respect every supporter be they Prime Minister or street sweeper. There is a whole selection of diplomatic answers that he could have given.
  11. Good for him. Bad for us.
  12. Oh dear. Too cocky by half. We can only hope that lessons are learnt by everyone involved. At that stage of the game anywhere but there would have been the better choice.
  13. The manager of Bognor Regis gave a talk to us one at a referees evening. He said that in his league if you showed him the salaries table he would tell you where the teams would finish.
  14. 50cl bottles have always been available. I believe.
  15. You might think that cleaning up the rivers, tackling crime and reducing immigration would be higher up the polish than this.
  16. No, it was twice.
  17. I think he can’t use his left foot. I may be wrong and he may be saving it for a special occasion.
  18. Yes yes yes But which ends were we attacking?
  19. I’m working my way through my memories of away games and so far I have reached the reverse of that figure. In most cases I seem to recall that away fans are placed along the end of one of the side stands, sometimes just in the upper tier. So far in the Premier League for the past few seasons I can only think of Brighton and perhaps Nottingham Forest where we have sat behind a goal. When you say “the opposite to normal” what normal might that be? Many Saints fans will remember opposition comebacks when they were playing towards the Northam. Aston Villa for one.
  20. It might be worth your time to look at our home results when the away team plays towards their own fans in the second half. I think you might be surprised.
  21. Whatever. The end result is that we’re leaving our flank unnecessarily exposed. If you think that having Manning holding hands with Bednarek improves our midfield defences then it would take a long argument to convince me. In any scenario, getting Manning out of the centre and out on the flank results in a tighter defence. We have got lucky so far.
  22. “Past performance is no guarantee of future performance”
  23. As Kenny Everett said, ”I went to Edinburgh and ordered a tartan room. I got both”
  24. If this is true then it’s an idiotic concept. It’s equivalent to standing to one side of your goal and inviting the opposition to take a potshot. Just because we haven’t conceded in the last few games doesn’t mean that we’re not going to.
