  1. How do you work that one out? And don’t forget that Puel had nothing to do with us getting into Europe.
  2. Yes I do, and I was ever-present throughout all those. You are only looking at the position in the table. It’s called bottom-line management. You might as well watch our games on Teletext. Or not bother going to the expense of paying for a ticket and just look up the results in the next day’s paper. Branfoot was indeed bad, but at least we had Le Tissier to entertain us and even Shearer for a while.
  3. He’s frustrating because just when we get some impressive results he’ll go and change our starting formation and then leave it too late before making corrections. Starting Smallbone in the Watford game was bizarre. If he wanted to give him a run out then it should have been later in the game if circumstances allowed. Yesterday he started with Long and Tella up front with Borja and Adam Armstrong on the bench. At Burnley we had nothing to offer up front and five at the back and paid for it defensively. When he’s good he deservedly gets the credit but he seems to insist on changing things around just for the hell of it.
  4. In theory I think that should have been a red card. Somebody got given one at the Dell (?) for throwing a coin back into the crowd.
  5. No, it’s not BS. That was the worst season at home, ever. Some others got close but that was the worst.
  6. I’ve just watched that game and my mind is not blown. I saw nothing comparable with yesterday’s incident. Unless you mean where Pickford had the ball blasted into his face from close range. If the shot had been placed either side or higher then he would not have been able to do anything about it. The save he made by diving across to his left was good though. Eze hit the ball on the volley from ten yards out, which is closer than a penalty would be, yet you would not normally expect any keeper to be favourite against a penalty. If you’re expecting any keeper to be saving a shot from that close routinely then you’re going to be disappointed.
  7. Something in between? A settled team for a start. Our best team being selected for every game. A game played with intent and enthusiasm and passion and not centred on retaining possession just for the sake of it. Something worth paying money for.
  8. Yep. Unless it hits them there is no time to react from that distance.
  9. Those are not the only two options. I am certainly not going to pay a lot of money to have to sit through and endure your first option either.
  10. No commitment in any of the tackles. Nobody wanted to get stuck in. I singled out Redmond, even though I generally support him, but others were half-hearted. Tella in particular.
  11. Don’t you mean the ‘onion bag’ ? He beat ‘the offside’. ’to perfection’ ’Beckhamesque’
  12. Too quick for him. And any other keeper to be fair. There was the whole of the goal to shoot at, our right hand side was empty.
  13. I wasn’t embarrassed.
  14. Absolutely true, I noticed that. It seemed to me that Ralph sanctioned it.
  15. Don’t be silly. We were sitting right in line with it and he had no time to adjust or react. The shot went through his legs and just glanced off the inside of his right boot. What do you think he should have done?
  16. We never created anything in the second half and not surprising with the players we had out there. He left Redmond on for 95 minutes too long. He just couldn’t be arsed. I would have liked to have seen Adam Armstrong for a change. He can hardly be criticised for not scoring if he is never given a chance. Tella made some good runs but lost the ball whenever he came up against a defender. Long has a role to play but starting the game is not one of them. Was Che injured? If not, the decision to take him off was weird.
  17. It’s what happens over a season that matters. Not one incident in one game. I thought Riley was wrong to apologise.
  18. I like what I have seen, but I haven’t seen a lot of him.
  19. Are you being serious? Only £150 to see the greatest team that has ever played on this earth and have the opportunity to marvel at their virtuosity and dribble down your cheeks? I have two season tickets myself but I'm not sure if I can be bothered to go.
  20. One word, NORWICH
  21. So you’re the one!
  22. Only two points difference at the moment. We could yet finish above them.
  23. It’s a bit late w but I smell compayshun.
