  1. You're assuming that they can read.
  2. Any new on ticket availability yet?
  3. Good shout. For many a year we would take the caravan down that way to stay either at Argelès-sur-Mer or over the hills in the Costa Brava. Unfortunately the two of us and the caravan are getting a bit old for that sort of thing these days.
  4. Very nice. We were along that way last November after a cruise to Fort Lauderdale. It was only a couple of weeks before the USA opened up again. We went out to Key West for three nights and then stayed two nights on Key Largo on the way back. I managed to grab a trip on The African Queen original boat that was used in the Bogart and Hepburn film. I even got a chance to steer her. Naples on the west coast of Floriday is a nice place.
  5. From The times this morning, https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/jesse-marsch-confident-high-pressing-leeds-united-can-handle-the-heat-2pngklldd Jesse Marsch has warned his Leeds United players that he still expects them to implement his high-pressing style when they face Southampton on Saturday, even in temperatures of 30C. The Premier League has responded to the hot weather forecast this weekend by introducing water breaks in each half — but Marsch insisted that he would not tolerate a drop in effort from his side at St Mary’s Stadium. One of Marsch’s biggest changes since succeeding Marcelo Bielsa as head coach at Elland Road last season has been the physicality of his side, their press and work without the ball. Marsch referenced his time in charge at New York Red Bulls, where temperatures would regularly top 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32C), and said that he had methods to cope with the heat that he will be passing on to his players. “It’s about being aggressive in the right moments,” the 48-year-old said. “One thing about football in the US, or sport in the US in the summer, is it’s hot, it’s always hot. It’s blistering, and so there are things that I’ve learnt about how to handle fatigue and heat, and managing matches that way. “When I was in New York, the discussion was always, ‘Can you play pressing football in the heat in the summer?’ and actually our record during matches in over 90 degrees or 85, which is like 30 degrees, was really strong. “It’ll be about managing mentally what the fatigue will be, and then making sure that the players that we bring off the bench will be ready to go. “I think it’s a moment where five substitutes, if we use them the right way, can be really impactful.” Marsch confirmed that Leeds, who won their opening game of the campaign, against Wolverhampton Wanderers, are still hunting for a striker, despite Patrick Bamford’s return to fitness. Southampton’s Che Adams, whom Leeds have tracked in the past, is a possible target. “Obviously, we’ve said for a long time that we’ve been evaluating for the right striker,” Marsch said. “Patrick being fully fit obviously helps us in that area. We also have some flexibility with Rodrigo, who can play there, and Dan [James] can play there at times. “We have some good young strikers, so we don’t want to suffocate some of the young players having opportunities moving forward. “[Recruiting] a striker, that’s not so easy. The way that I like to play the game, we ask a lot from the strikers, to work hard, to press, so it’s a very demanding position. We’re trying to find the right one.”
  6. We like Wahoo's Grill and have been there a couple of times. At our age though everything gets more difficult. The trouble with the Overseas Highway is that it can get blocked if there's the slightest traffic problem. The Florida Keys are well worth a visit though. http://wahoosbarandgrill.com/
  7. We were staying there in our caravan three weeks ago and I managed to cycle into town a couple of times on my folding electric bike. Spectacular scenery but too may people. Couldn't move in the town centre.
  8. As far as I am concerned he can lie snivelling on the floor all he wants if he starts winning a few games.
  9. That’s the match that did it for me. Why Smallbone when he had Broja, A. Armstrong, even Redmond, Long and Walcott on the bench?
  10. Turkey would seem appropriate.
  11. Hmm, 45 hours of lessons against 40 minutes for a test. That’s a ratio of over 60:1 so you might expect there to be 60 times the number of instructors to examiners.
  12. Sure. Just give me the £6m a year that he's earning and I'll give it a go. Could I do any worse? For context, the average Premier League player's wages are £60,000 a week. I'll just let that sink in a minute. That means that they 'earn' in just one month the same as the UK average house price. They 'earn' more in a week than twice the average annual UK salary. (Yes, I know, they might pay some tax on this). Now get out there and show me that you're worth it.
  13. It says nothing about me. "Multi-millionaires need motivating" shock horror. The key word here is 'professional'. That means doing something and getting paid for it. Perhaps they are being paid too much if they aren't up to performing.
  14. I have no sympathy for them the poor diddums. Mollycoddled Wallies.
  15. They should just get on with it and always do their best. What is all this nonsense about ‘low morale’?
  16. Are those quarterly figures?
  17. They are paid a lot of money for the job that they do.
  18. They will maintain their income whatever the energy usage. If we all halved our consumption they’d only go and double their charges.
  19. Brings back memories for me. When I was there studying engineering the chap in charge of the electrical machines lab knew that I played football and asked if I’d like to go along to the game with him that Saturday. He always did a live audio broadcast for the hospital radio and invited me to do the half time summary. 27th March 1971 Cambridge United were at home to Scunthorpe and ended up drawing 1-1. I was hopeless as a summariser but I do remember an energetic youngster (with a perm as I remember) running around for Scunthorpe and looking very lively. On 3rd May that same year a certain twenty year old Kevin Keegan signed for Liverpool for a fee of £33,000 and £50 a week. If I can get a ticket I shall be there. The ground is 1.8 miles from the city centre or 2 miles from the station. Trains go from both Liverpool Street and Kings Cross but I shall probably spend the night in town.
  20. Those in European competitions join in a later round.
  21. When you're put on hold and the music that they're playing is full of dropouts. Every time that it hiccups you think that the person on the other end has picked up.
  22. Agreed That was when we went over the cliff.
  23. I'm not an expert but I would say that both parts apply to your daughter's phone only. Part 1 is to make sure that after deleting the contacts on her phone they don't get restored again by any auto synching. Since you say that her phone is set up with your Google account details this would most probably happen. Please be aware that effectivley her phone will be considered by Google to be a copy of your phone too. She will also be able to make any purchases from Google Pay that you can. You might be better advised to set up a new Google account for her using a new email address. Gmail accounts are free. Part 2 is the bit that removes the contacts from your daughter's phone

I only hope that they have to leave via the occupied Ukrainian territories rather than the Kerch Bridge.
  25. Did you rest the phone before setting it up? If not, Disable syncing by going to “Settings” > “Accounts” > “Google“. Select your Google account and uncheck “Sync Contacts“. If you sync contacts with other apps such as Facebook or Twitter, be sure to disable syncing for those apps as well. Go to “Settings” > “Applications” > “Manage applications” > “All” > “Contacts” > “Storage” and select “Clear data“.
