We should all be eternally grateful to him for scoring our first two goals against Arsenal in our last game at The Dell and thereby setting up Matty's glorious winner.
Edit: enjoy MOTD all over again:
That is why Hoddle never made it as a manager. Matt scored that hat trick for England B and still didn't get picked. For anybody who supports England it was one big crying shame.
We've had two flat tyres in less than a week. In Ilfracombe last Friday the front nearside on my Mercedes went flat with screw damage in under 300 yards and I had to get a replacement from ATS in Barnstaple (very good) for £141 and yesterday my wife's new Celerio had a screw sticking out of its shoulder for another £52. Both tyres were almost brand new. That's nearly £200 and a load of bother for nothing.
I had no control over that. If the government chose to do a Robert Maxwell and rob the pension fund that was their decision. Besides, I pay taxes, all the OAPs I know pay taxes, even my 97 year old mother pays taxes on her meagre pension.
Then you know nothing about football. It wasn't 'straight at him'. It flew past him at 50mph or more, over 70 ft/s. Human reaction times are such that it was past him before he could begin to move his arms. In order to make a save from that distance you have to anticipate the direction of the ball which is possible to some extent with a swing of the leg but a header can go in any direction and is not predictable. The only way that such headers are 'saved' is if they actually hit the keeper.
I repeat. My state pension is not a 'benefit'. You can call it what you like now but that's not what it was called when my wife and I were paying contributions towards I'd. There used to be a 'Department for Work and Pensions'.
I don't read tabloids.
What's the difference between funding education up to 18 or up to 21? Or don't you want a well-educated workforce? Besides, graduates will tend to earn higher salaries and pay more in tax. Media studies was not an option in my day.
