  1. Wait until Sunday
  2. All very true but the have-nots don't appreciate that the high earners are paying the taxes that support their public services.
  3. Very difficult to compare economies historically because of the fluctuations in exchange rates but I found this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angus_Maddison_statistics_of_the_ten_largest_economies_by_GDP_(PPP) I seem to remember that we were vying for fourth with Italy of all countries for quite a time. As far as growth is concerned we have done comparatively very well since the start of the Single Market, in fact Britain has thrived. That will no longer be the case.
  4. We've had 40 years of the Eurosceptics harping on about how bad the EU is and now they want us to forget about it and move on. We keep hearing that this was supposed to be a democratic decision yet it wasn't a general election and should not be treated as such. If it had been then a result this close would have resulted in a re-run soon after. Real democracy would mean regular votes in order to gauge the will of the people. This was one giant opinion poll and the voters treated it as such. I have heard from lots who admitted that they didn't have the information to make an informed choice and didn't really know what they were voting for.
  5. I exxpect they felt much the same on the Titanic.
  6. There aren't many people happy about anything at the moment. You might be unhappy if he were PM but that doesn't mean that you'd be happy that he isn't.
  7. And anybody but a Leave.
  8. He did it because his wife told him to.
  9. Works for me. Je suis Eric.
  10. We have never had a trade deal with the US. There's an enormous difference between the Single Market and a traiff-free trade deal. But you knew this already. I like America. State #51 would be ok by me.
  11. This wasn't a general election, although some people seem to be treating it as such. Gove is not to be trusted with anything. Ever.
  12. It beggars belief that anyone would think that anyone who thought that he would come here was serious.
  13. Ah that's different.
  14. I thought they had ambition?
  15. This was not an election, just a big opinion poll.
  16. Do own goals count?
  17. My wife has RBS and is not happy. The annoyance no thing is that Britain had started to work its way back to growth and stability but that's all gone down the pan for the next decade.
  18. I quite liked this from Twitter: 4 hours ago - One joker tweeted: “BoJo Bricks It And Legs It From Brexit.”
  19. Argue with himself?
  20. There's a lot more to it than that. The FTSE250 and the pound are not doing too well. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2016/06/27/why-we-should-be-looking-at-the-ftse-250-and-not-the-ftse-100-to/
  21. Brilliant stuff lads, please keep 'em coming
  22. We should have taken him up on his offer. 11 pints would have done it.
  23. We? Don't blame me.
  24. Welcome Claude. I am now optimistic for the new season. No pressure - Europa League final and a continuation of our customary improvement in final league position please.
