Very well put. I think that a large part of the Leave vote was from people who live in communities that aren't involve in Europe in any form, feel poor and disadvantaged and can only see European economic migrants amongst themselves as taking their jobs and public services. They don't realise that these same services are partly paid for by the tax contributions of those who are closely involved in European trade.

We don't actually have a negotiating team any more. We haven't need one for forty years or so.

I'm digressing a bit (as usual) but the ferry company's income used to be 1/3 fares 1/3 freight and 1/3 duty free. With the current political set-up of predominantly pro-EU MPs I cannot see us ever settling for less than Single Market access and all that entails including free movement of labour.

Yes it is an awful place to live. Overcrowded (You should know about that but at least you can get out the country easily). Poor-quality infrastructure, high housing costs, high taxation, high cost of living. Ireland on the other hand... France even.
