  1. They stopped supplying starting handles in the 1950s. They really were wind ups.
  2. I need a new all-purpose jacket/coat for keeping in the back of the car. My present one is starting to fret at the edges and my wife says it smells of fish and chips. On top of that it's lost its rainproofing. Which would you recommend and would it be an acceptable fashion accessory for a 66 year old white-haired man?
  3. If she really loves you she'll understand. What's a few weeks delay when you have the rest of your lives ahead of you?
  4. Conceded the late penalty at Old Trafford.
  5. I turned over to the other game because of the sycophantic sickness.
  6. I remember one of the papers describing him as 'one to watch' and here he is now in the twilight of his career.
  7. You can have the cassettes for free, I just want them to go to a good home. I can render the video files in any format you like (within reason). I am usually to be found around Chandlers Ford/Hamble and other local establishments.
  8. I'm sure I read that we did.
  9. I have VHS for 90/91 and 91/92 and also 'Matt's Premier 50'. I have recently scanned these into mpeg files so you are welcome to the cassettes. One of the season reviews is not the best quality but l can't remember which. If anyone is interested I can upload these to Dropbox and then delete them once downloaded.
  10. Well found! Thanks.
  11. It doesn't say whether that's 12 goals all season or just from now on.
  12. Tough one. Peter Crouch? Just a thought...
  13. Viafara at Derby.
  14. To be honest, I couldn't give a fig for what the owner of West Ham thinks. All that matters to me is what our club does. All the others can go and sulk in a corner.
  15. Forster back, Austin signed, we're starting to get a team put together.
  16. From the Mail this morning: Ward-Prowse is close to a call-up to the senior England team, having captained the Under 21s, and his double — his first in a Southampton shirt — will have been duly noted by manager Roy Hodgson. 17. Long??? Wash your mouth out immediately.
  18. It was in my letter to Santa. Let's wait and see
  19. Ah! I thought he might have had previous.
  20. Totally bizarre. A Trident sub is not suitable for conventional warfare. It's a shame we dumped the Upholders. They might have been effective with a few cruise missiles.
  21. Sorry, I misread you at first. That extra-time header was ridiculously offside. The officials must have fallen asleep after 95 minutes.
  22. Close to a senior England call-up according to the Mail this morning. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3402634/Southampton-3-0-West-Brom-Set-piece-double-James-Ward-Prowse-inspires-Saints-convincing-home-victory-Baggies.html
  23. But who would you get instead? Money in the bank is not much good when you are short of playing assets.
  24. Yes it was. His one into the Chapel in the second half yesterday was not so pretty. He had a good game yesterday, well worth his place.
