I fully understand all the odds and statistics but they relate to the situation at the end of the season. My concern is that we could be going into the game at Stoke needing a point or three to be certain of security, so a more relevant question for me is 'what are the odds that we will be safe before kick-off at 16:00 on May 19th?'

I would be inclined to wait until the season is over before we decide how successful it has been. At the very least, a few places difference amounts to quit a bit of prize money.

If that did happen then the goal difference could be uncomfortably close. At the moment we are +13 better than Wigan. Lose all 3 games 3-0 (like Saturday) and it won't be just my bum that's squeaking.

I agree that we are almost certainly safe, but I would imagine that some scenarios would have us going into the last game needing at least a point, and I would be feeling a little uneasy with that.

He may have been playing advantage but he didn't signal or call to show that he was. In these situations it is wise for the referee to let both players know that he is watching the situation closely.

If the unlikely were to happen the the GD would also melt away.
