Cheers, Alps. I've enjoyed all your contributions, along with everybody else's. Let's raise a glass together, enjoy the summer and start looking forward to next season.
I might go to another restaurant, because I can be pig-headed stubborn sometimes, but to be honest I wouldn't visit that restaurant if it didn't have my favourite dish.
Along with all the others in the previous 43 games? You are right, though, it's always the events in the last few games that you remember, not the ones last October.
Then I humbly apologise for my explanation but there are plenty of others who don't know the exact law. It didn't seem to go out to me and I stick by the official who was also on the line. It's only his opinion that counts, after all.
At the time it certainly didn't look like offside but having seen the replay I have to admit that Guly was offside, if only for the split-second when the ball was crossed.
This is a common misunderstanding. The whole of the ball has to be over the whole of the line and from some angles there can be a gap between the line and the ball but when looked at from above there is still a part of the ball that is over the line. The official is in the best position to judge and is a neutral opinion. You couldn't ask for any more.
Well he held the flag horizontally which just means someone in the middle was offside but he was standing quite a way back from the goal-line, almost level with the penalty spot, if my memory serves me correctly.
I counted 97 of them just before kick-off, but one of those was a bloke sitting in the front row with a shirt and tie so I presume he was a coach driver, except that I didn't see any away coaches??? Some more wandered in later until there were about 130 -140 of them.
