  1. Oldknow is in affect Commercial Director, nothing to do with the running of the footballing side.
  2. I think Perry CDAJFU sweeping behind a younger more mobile, tall, fit, athletic CB because of his ability to read the game. Unforetunately we've got Thomas and Lancashire.
  3. Yes I agree with that. The context of my 'not that bad' statement was in comparison to Wotton.
  4. Misleading title TBH. Many of the businesses, small suppliers etc. probably lost money when SLH went into administration, some as creditors having to take a small percentage of what they were owed after Fry had divided up the pot of money. They are now looking after their own interests and ensuring that that will not happen again. In any case, any new firm requiring credits terms from a supplier would have to go through similar financial checks and as Cortese says, SFC are now a new company.
  5. Didn't he say on his Facebook page that he'd torn his hamstring? That being the case he will be out for several weeks yet.

    Lee Holmes

Nothing I've seen from him suggests this.
  7. This is where the Sporting Director will ultimately come in because NC will not necessarily be able to judge true value for money, when it comes to transfer fees and wages.
  8. They said they've rang the 250 on the waiting list and a further 250 will go on sale immediately. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1757748,00.html
  9. Agreed and we will be stronger by 1st of September and stronger still by 1st February.
  10. What about Michael Choppra? Then we could have a Lamb-Chop partnership!! Maybe not!!!
  11. No I include Powell. He wasn't that bad he was just injured. Permanently!
  12. But there are plenty of the type of midfielder we are/should be looking for playing in League 1. The four we faced today is a start!
  13. Well, if you like. This team (or last season's) is arguably the worst Saints' have ever had. Certainly since the late '50's/early '60's. Wotton is certainly the worst first teamer of the worst team (I don't include Pulis because he never gets anywhere near the first team of any of his clubs). Therefore, I conclude that Wotton is Saints' worst player.
  14. I'm not a youngster and I concur that Wotton is probably the worst permanent first teamer Saints have ever had. Others (the Keith Cassells of this world) were crap but they were crap compared to the other (great) players we had in English football's TOP tier. Wotton is crap compared to all the other (crap) players we have in English football's THIRD tier.
  15. TBF I don't think anybody on here over-rates Wotton. Just about total agreement that he is absolutely garbage.
  16. What I like about Pardew is that he doesn't beat about the bush nor make excuses. He has backed up most of what as been said on the match thread and TBH what many of us have said time and time again over the last 2 years. Let's hope he can get his targets in fast and start competing with these teams in terms of physique, pace, athleticism and stamina and then have that little bit of extra class and guile to win some games.
  17. Lol. At least wait until Souness is brought in as Sporting Director!!
  18. That's a few points on the prediction league then!!
  19. And you end up with Redknapp! I'm having that player, that player and this player and I don't care what they cost and I don't care what we pay them and if they bankrupt us, well WTF I'll be off because I'm Happy Harry and always get another job!!
  20. Don't suppose it crossed your mind he might have an injury.
  21. Who are NOT Paul Wotton!!!
  22. No that was Chamberlain but it's hard to tell the difference these days.
  23. I think in an ideal world that would have been the case but as soon as they decided Wotte wasn't the man to take us forward (even in the short-term) then the Team Manager position had to be filled immediately.
  24. It's only a problem, when it is some upstart, know nothing or someone promoted within the club because of who they are rather than what they know. This is a completely new appointment and NC can interview just about anyone in the world with playing and/or management and/or business and/or football or sporting administration experience and acumen. I don't think anyone would have argued with the appointment of someone like Sir Bobby Robson prior to his untimely death and there are people of that ilk out there, who may be interested in the role.
