There are certain criteria that he would meet that Jaidi doesn't, age and potential certainly being part of the decision. Spare a thought for the Celtic Crusaders rugby league team, who have had 6 of their current first team, including the club captain, deported for visa/work permit irregularities. At least with Jaidi, we haven't paid out or invested anything other than time speaking to his agent. We tried him, it wasn't to be, let's move on.

Why did the ball boys have the balls taken from them?
krissyboy31 replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
The ballboys at St Mary's are useless. We play the multi-ball system, supposedly to use to our own advantage but half the time it advantages the opposition (when we're attacking it's all too slow but when we're defending and need to get organised, it seems to be released to the oppo. immediately). During the Millwall game the ballboy sat in front of Kingsland Block 34 had "his" ball and wasn't going to let go of it and definitely not let anyone actually play with it. -
Very vulnerable to the counter attack if your full-back takes corner kicks.
-
I can understand him taking the ones on the left-hand side but running over to take them from the right, not only lost the impetus but he does not seem to be able to take outswinging corners with the correct pace and trajectory to clear the front marker.

I think SCW could do the sporting director job no problem at all TBF. His expertise is in sports science and sporting and business administration. Remember, although Head Coach for the RFU he did very little in the way of actual coaching and surrounded himself with experts in their particular fields. Wrong team at the wrong time? Definitely, but he could certainly do the job the Frank Arnesen does at Chelsea, no problem at all! The trouble was that when he was here, he wanted to be manager elect and that was never going to work.

He's the same as a lot of our youngsters. Not good enough yet! Not saying that we won't be a good player over time with more experience but he certainly shouldn't be picked ahead of Saganowski ATM. BTW he was reasonable against Millwall NOT quality!!
-
Started off playing like a bunch of strangers, which TBF a lot of them are. Did improve as the game went on and although we conceded the equaliser, for once in the last 5 minutes and in injury time, we finished strongly and actually looked like we might get a late winner. Paterson was dreadful in the first half and James dreadful throughout!
-
If Saga had had the three really good chances Paterson fecked up in the first half, he would have buried them all.
-
There was about a thousand more than I thought would be there but then again Brentford brought a thousand more than I thought they would.
-
I thought James was absolutely dreadful today. Along with Paterson very much the weakest link in the side. Paterson was correctly removed from the pitch second-half and I'm sure if we had adequate replacement on the bench, James would have been too!

The previous regime were only interested in scouting youngsters for the Academy, neglecting the fact that we may need to supplement the first team with players and know something about the opposition. Last season, from quite early on, it was apparent that we knew Jack Shjt about the teams and players we were playing and for several seasons we have been signing players on a whim and certainly not 'scouted' them first.
-
If they wanted to stay and were 100% committed then I'd keep them but if, as it seems, they want away, then get them out ASAP and use the money saved to buy a decent replacement.

Agree with pretty much all of that (apart from I'm not too sure about Lancashire).

Would be a good shout IMO!

I for one didn't boycott and went to as many games as I could make. That did not stop most of last season being such a bloody chore to the point I was sick and tired of being so miserable and disheartened by what was going on, on and off the pitch. I can understand fully anybody that stopped going because half the time I felt like joining them.
-
I wouldn't rule out the possibility of SCW returning as Sporting Director TBH.

Saints U18's are playing their first league game of the season tomorrow, away at Man Utd. Can't remember them ever being in our League before? Have the PL mixed up all of the youth leagues this year? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/AcademyNews/0,,10280~1763264,00.html

5'10" is not exactly big but I wouldn't say it was small either.

I think it's psychosematic, a bit like Marcus Trescothick's Test Match phobia. As soon as he comes anywhere near first team selection he has palpitations and needs to pull out injured. [Or so it seems to me!]

TBF Risdale at Leeds and Ashley at Newcastle were wholly blamed by their fan bases for their club's demises. The problem I have with Lowe was his inability to get the right manager in (god knows, he had enough tries at it) and once selecting his man not allowing the manager to manage.

Well Jack Cork's just signed for Coventry!!

Holmes is always injured. Got the same pain threshold as Darren Powell and is about as much use to us!
