I know we had to make a lot of cutbacks over the last few years but what chance did we really stand with the scouting system in such disarray? Especially as the coaches had absolutely no knowledge of the league we were in!!

Hardly like for like comparisons. At least the others had made decent or even great reputations for themselves playing a hundred or 10's of hundreds appearances. Holmes has played a whole 14 times for Saints, including once as sub (Man U FA Cup), the game he was crocked v QPR and twice in the League Cup.

The emergency loan period goes on into October I believe. I think that AP probably wasn't looking to sign another full-back (right or left) but now Murty looks likely to be out for a longish period, I suspect he will bring someone in.

To be fair. On Saturday, although we did concede an equaliser, for the first time in several seasons, I thought we actually ended the game as the stronger, fitter team and had put constant pressure on the Brentford goal for the last 10 minutes and throughout injury time.

He was waaaaay before he moved north of the border!!

At a guess I'd say Watford and Reading!!

Let's hope we kick on from here and start turning performances into wins. We had a lot of plucky loser games last season but we need wins!!
