I thought that! Maybe it's Saint_Bert after proclaiming 'I ******* love this club!'
-
Ipswich used to sign it early '70's as some sort of regional statement, in the same way that the Brizzle teams sang the 'drink up thee zider' Worzel type songs. For some reason in the mid-seventies we adopted the song as our own, trying to be a bunch of carrot-crunching imbeciles. Well I don't know about you but I am not a carrot-cruncher nor an imbecile.
-
Sh!t song and NOT a Saints song. It's a Norwich/Ipswich song.

Agreed! But we would have needed to keep a hold of Stern John or sign somebody similar to play that system. We don't have a player on the books (Rasiak included) that can play upfront alone and hold the ball up for a 'hole' player and/or the midfield to join in.

I agree and all that nonsense about getting fit with the ball, we had from JP last season, was time and time again proved to be bollix. Stamina is built up doing the hard yards. In the old days sprinting up and down the terraces or at the Army barracks. A kick about and a few shuttle runs are not going to make up for that. When WGS was our manager, our squad was not the most talented (with the exception of the odd player) but we competed for 90 minutes because we were one of the fittest, if not fittest in the division. Last season, teams with less talented players, overran us in the last 20 minutes because we couldn't stay with them. Now AP has seen this (after we had been back 10 days longer than most teams) and is going to address it, TFFT!

Yes, thought he did really well when he came on. Seems to have grown a bit and got stronger since last season.
-
Actually thought Lallana did better than James did today and James was in his favoured position, whereas I doubt if AL has played LMF in his life. That said he is not a wide player and certainly couldn't understand why he wasn't pushed up front when Paterson was taken off.

Are you a member of Colslaw? Don't they arrange travel/car share etc. from Watford?

.....anyone? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1205126/Boro-flop-Alves-Qatar-Baggies-sign-defender-Saints-target-Craddock.html?ITO=1490

One thing's for certain, it won't be as painful and as embarrassing as watching that batting performance today!
-
Not before the deadline date it wouldn't.

We could also see some surprisingly large away followings at St Mary's this season. A lot of localish teams, coming to a big club and big stadium, maybe for the first time? Millwall are bringing over 2,200 tomorrow, I'd expect the other London clubs, Bristol Rovers, Swindon, even Yeovil to bring decent followings. I bet Carlisle will bring loads as well.

New signing expected shortly (no idea who I migth add)

Before her marriage, then I'd agree with you but if you're talking about the anorexic wretch she is now, then I'm with BBB. -
Have you missed the Early-bird Renewal deadline?

It's all about building momentum. A winning team will swell the crowd and build the atmosphere, which in turn should spur the team on more etc. etc. etc. I think a lot of the negativity around the place was due to what was going on behind the scenes and now that is out of the way, going to games will be less of a chore than certainly most of last season was. I'm sure that most of the teams in this division would give anything to have what we have here now, in terms of fan-base, facilities and financial backing. Remember, we have sold more season tickets than most of the teams in this division can physically get in their ground.

3 months ago I was envious of them. Now I would take our position every time.

I can't see Charlton being anywhere near. In fact I think they'll be closer to the relegation zone than the play-offs.

Millwall have sold over 2,200. http://www.millwallfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10367~1747080,00.html

I've answered A, B, C and none of the above to the four questions, so what does that make me?

Cork and Surman are better players than Perry and Harding but not in those positions.
-
That may be true but he was no better than okay for us.
-
Difference is, he will be given time to develop and a place here and there on the bench or in the Carling Cup. He won't be thrown in in a sink or swim fashion, like the youngsters were last season.
-
The title of this thread should be changed because it is evidently not true and may deter anybody from reading it, trying to get a ticket!!
-
I agree with that but I don't see that JPS or Pearce were better players than Thomas. Keeping him fit is going to be the problem.

Howells, Beattie and Ripley. He did bring in Marsden though, I believe.
