  1. True, but that was underachieving compared to what came before. His crime was that he followed big Lawrie.
  2. Askham. He took over as Chairman in 1988, Nicholl was sacked in 1991.
  3. He can't be that weak, seeing he's the only one to survive every cull we've had in the boardroom. Make's you wonder if he's got some 'dirt' on all of the main players?
  4. Yes please! I was going to ask as well!! I caught the last 10 minutes but the Radio Hampshire webcast kept cutting in and out, so I couldn't make much sense of what was being said.
  5. He physically took his had away from it, as if he thought it was going wide.
  6. Another player with a lot of potential but not ready yet. Like most of the youngsters this year, he has been thrown in much too early and will probably have his confidence destroyed by the clubs sink or drown policy.
  7. Just seen the goals on SNN. WTF was Davis doing with their second goal? Trying not to give away a corner? He certainly wasn't trying to save it, he took his hand away from it!!
  8. I agree! But I do believe that A professional football club will continue in Southampton (may be "Southampton 2009 AFC," or something similar), having to start from the bottom of the pyramid.
  9. Maidstone and Scarborough too. Accrington, Aldershot, Newport and Barrow all went bust but new clubs were formed from the ashes, so to speak.
  10. Could always support Stoke, as long as they changed their name to ex Saints!
  11. TBH I can't be @rsed to read the after match comments any more. The OS have been rehashing the same old script for the best part of two years now.
  12. Gillett!!
  13. Hey, not a bad guess!! 13,257. Obviously, 37 people got caught up in sudden snow fall!
  14. I'm quite surprised by this TBH but now it is on, we better bloody well win it!!
  15. The perfect signing then!
  16. Bundesliga have been back a week, but much of Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Russia etc. do not play in the winter. Ukraine are back on 28th February. So I'd say quite a few really!!
  17. No they don't. That's why they have the winter break.
  18. The Bradford game last night was called off less than an 90 mins before the game, which is not fair on anybody, the fans, the players, the officials or the media. They probably left it as late as possible because it was due to be on Sky. Let's hope they make a definitive decision well before due kick-off time. No inspection due though, according to SSN.
  19. You could turn this post around and say that Lowe has FAILED to off load many of the high wage earners and with the additions we have made to the squad the wage bill has actually gone up, contrary to what he told the city and the clubs creditors.
  20. It's because the club (under Lowe) have been spurting that line for years to explain anyone they want to offload or cash in on. They said it about Bridge and they said it about Beattie. Now I'm not saying either of those didn't want to leave for the contracts they were offered by their respective suitors but not committed to SFC, my @rse!!
  21. Different era I'm afraid. None of those games would be played now. (I remember going to the Brizzel game in the back of a furniture removal van, talk about brass monkeys). There was a Boxing Day (12 noon KO) game against Chelsea at the Dell, that although not in the snow, was played on virtually a skating rink. A god-awful 0-0 draw if I remember correctly.
