That's who I was thinking, as well. All 3 relegated teams have decent keepers who could do a job for us, as does Blackpool, who just failed to go up. Still have a nagging feeling they'll go for Schneichel though.

TBF NA has said on record that HE is ****ed off not winning the league so it's not like he settled for second best.

However well the team has done over the last two seasons, it is not good enough for the EPL and therefore we are going to need (IMO) 5 or 6 players to compliment/replace what we have. This is replacing them with better players, players most likely with EPL experience and they are going to cost big money. Now whether that goes against Adkins' ethos, only time will tell but it is a fact of where we are and where we want to go.

As disappointed as I will be if there is any truth in this report, I have to agree with what you have said. Last summer, I did wonder if Adkins would last the season and obviously because the team surpassed expectations, he did (and deservedly so). It would therefore be very harsh to replace him now but then if true, he is due to be replaced by somebody that has just won the biggest club championship in the world, which was still not enough to secure his current job.
