  1. Really can't see England getting back into this. Will be a well deserved win for Spain who have got their tactics spot on.
  2. Horrifying. Genuinely like a scene from a post-apocalyptic movie. Thankfully no casualties though.
  3. Neither was Tino. Didn't stop him having an instant impact though.
  4. Sadly she has deleted this already... Did she mean like this...
  5. My nephew has played against Delap numerous times at youth / U23 level, and he reckons he is a similar type of player to Broja, but technically better. He was absolutely spot on with his assessment of Tino this time last year, having played against him loads as well, so that's good enough for me.
  6. I think you're right. Truss is trying to appeal to the older generation of Tory members who adored Thatcher by trying to imitate her (she even wore an identical outfit in the first TV debate), and it seems to be working. My mum (not a member, but certainly an old fashioned Tory voter) thinks she would be the sensible choice and would see the country in good hands to see of the 'threat' of socialism.
  7. This, and I've been told that FL is a "distant" manager who doesn't really pay much attention to the youth teams, so it's unlikely he developed much of a personal relationship with Colwill from his time as Chelsea manager.
  8. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal_Protocol The reason this was successful was because it didn't represent an existential threat to the continued profiteering of a handful of corporations with enormous lobbying power over neoliberal governments. Unlike the situation with GHG emission reduction, the world was able to implement the necessary changes without strong resistance from those with a huge vested interest in maintaining the status quo.
  9. Who made those claims?
  10. This is everything that's wring with modern day 'debate'... Idiots who get all their info on a subject from places like Breitbart or Spiked, thinking their 'opinion' is just as valid as that of people who have studied and worked in the field.
  11. Oh FFS, how do you not get this? For every incorrect prediction in your list there were numerous ones around the same time that were correct. The unscrupulous pricks that produce the kind of graphics you shared only focus on the incorrect ones and completely ignore the correct ones, to make it appear that the incorrect predictions were the overwhelming scientific consensus of the time when they absolutely weren't. They do this because they know that ignorant, unthinking idiots will take it at face value and repeat it as fact so as to muddy the waters of debate, to benefit their fossil fuel benefactors.
  12. What do you think this is? I see a list of predictions (with the word "could" replaced by "will" for dramatic effect) that have turned out to be incorrect, interspersed with a few bits of made up bollocks fir good measure. What about the 50 year old models that have proven to be accurate? https://www.science.org/content/article/even-50-year-old-climate-models-correctly-predicted-global-warming What are your expert thoughts on that? Completely irrespective of what predictions may or may not have come true in the last 50 years, the facts are these: The five hottest days ever recorded in the UK have been since 2000. Four of the five hottest days have been in the last 3 years. Three of the five hottest days have been in the last 2 years. The temperature recorded today at Coningsby beat the previous UK record by an eye-watering 1.6 degrees. So, in your expert opinion, do you think the people who have been telling us the world is warming were right or wrong? Actually, given that you are so fucking thick you actually tried to argue that a forecast of 40 degrees doesn't qualify as over 40 degrees*, please don't answer that. * it was 40.3 today BTW.
  13. Ah yes, that world renowned science journal, the Radio Times.
  14. Must be fake news. Loads of people on this thread have told us it's just normal summer weather and nothing to worry about.
  15. And it won't be Tom Tugendhat now either. He should have made more of his army credentials. I don't think he mentioned that enough.
  16. He's about to miss his 3rd COBRA meeting on the heatwave, and a spokesperson is unable to say what he will be doing instead. Not even bothering to pretend to care anymore. Too busy spaffing time and money up the wall on pointless photo-ops, and squeezing every last perk out of his job while he still can.
  17. This was at midday. by around 3-4pm these will have easily been surpassed.
  18. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-62192527 "No evidence" the deportation agreement with Rwanda is deterring migrants from crossing the channel. Who could possibly have predicted that I wonder?
  19. Flippin' eck. Wikipedia reckons she's 3 months younger than me! She looks old enough to be my mum FFS! 😲
  20. Edit: OK I realise now that was just the same article that Weston posted. But it kind of raises the question: what exactly was confusing about it? It's pretty clear from the article that they meant the car park was full, so why the vitriol towards Soggy when he pointed that out? I think the heat may have got to a few people today.
  21. She keeps banging on about her record of delivery. Perhaps she should get a job with Amazon.
  22. And not all cars have air con either. I've been to Camber sands before and if the car park is full then you're screwed. Nowhere else to park (legally) unless you fancy doing a long hike with all your beach gear in the blazing sunshine.
