  1. He'll do that even if/when we lose.
  2. I wouldn't blame any player for not wanting to renew their contract right now. There is a deep rot at the heart of this club and you can tell from the body language on the pitch that most of them aren't enjoying their football and don't want to be here.
  3. Are you talking about Tarantino or Morrissey?
  4. I voted for late battle to avoid relegation. If you take out the points from that upturn of form while Tonda was interim (which is starting to seem like a bizarre blip now) and extrapolate our points per game from the runs of games either side of it, we would currently be sitting in 23rd place on 21 points from 26 games. Only the total clusterfuck at Sheffield Wednesday would be keeping us off the bottom. I'm not seeing any signs of our form improving. Our attacking tactics have been easily found out and nullified, we're still surrendering the midfield because of the awful 3/5 defensive formation, and we simply cannot defend competently. Right now, I would happily take a mid-table finish. Anyone who thinks we've got any hope of the playoffs needs to give their head a wobble.
  5. They will have too much for us. Now that the Tonda interim bubble has well and truly burst, we're playing just as badly as we were when they bullied us up at theirs earlier in the season.
  6. Who wants to tell them?
  7. I think that's nailed on. Tonda will point to the fact that Donny didn't score any more goals after bringing on another CB as vindication for sticking with it, and it will be a long time before we see a back four again.
  8. I read somewhere recently that Quentin Tarantino was doing an interview and was asked to list his top ten films. He said TWBB would have been higher on the list if not for Paul Dano, who he described as being the weakest actor in the Screen Actors Guild. Lost a lot of respect for him after that. Paul Dano is an exceptionally talented actor IMO, and he's great in everything I've ever seen him in. From Little Miss Sunshine to Prisoners to The Batman. He plays creepy characters with an unnerving believability.
  9. Don't really want to go over all this again, but his position had become completely untenable by the time he was sacked. We might have got a few more points had he stayed on, but there had been a total breakdown of trust between the manager, the players and the fans. He had to go. Unfortunately, SR did what they do best and completely fucked up the recruitment of his replacement.
  10. I have to take issue with that. We absolutely did need a keeper upgrade in that summer, like we have for many years now. And the signing of Ramsdale is probably the only example of SR signing an established player at the level he was signed for. That's once, in four years, where they have deviated from their obsession with signing untested youngsters in the hope they will eventually turn a big profit.
  11. Copy and paste is great isn't it 😉
  12. Sheff Utd losing 1-4 to Mansfield.
  13. Yep, that would be my choice too. I would be quite happy to never see Downes play for us again. His booking yesterday was bizarre. Do they have an ongoing bet among the players on who can pick up the stupidest booking? Or are they all just thick as shit?
  14. I remember that. Something within the club 'unclicked' prior to that game. We went there fairly confident of being able to get a result, having recently drawn at OT and won at Spurs. But suddenly we looked like a completely different team and Villa carved us open with ease. We then capitulated for the rest of the season. Whatever it was that happened, we've never recovered from it. Up until that point we were looking on course for a steady mid-table finish. The two wins prior to it against Everton and Norwich were probably the last time we ever looked like a competitive PL team - less than two months into the SR era.
  15. I didn't say that was the only reason we might not be hiring Frank. I agree with you that he wouldn't be taking this job now regardless.
  16. Just saw this in the Doncaster match thread. That's it. I'm done. Whatever tiny amount of goodwill I still had left towards Dragan and co is gone now after this. I'm not spending another penny on Saints until they have sold up and fucked off. Absolute cunts.
  17. Telling players not to give away their shirt to young fans so they can fleece them in the club shop instead is a shameful new low for this bunch of despicable cunts running our club.
  18. Or perhaps Frank already knows full well what a bullshitting charlatan Rasmus is from their days at Brentford, and would never decide to work for/with him again anyway. Probably more likely.
  19. On a more light-hearted note, you do have to love the humour of football fans sometimes... PXL_20260110_160452307.TS.mp4
  20. This was very evident yesterday. Even before our second half collapse, some pockets of fans were singing "Sideways and backwards, everywhere we go". The general apathy and cynicism towards the team was the most palpable I've ever experienced in an away end. We had a 3-0 lead against a lower league team. From there we should have been able to comfortably see out the second half and bring some of the youngsters off the bench for some experience, but instead we had to wheel out the big guns to take the pressure off us as we were desperately hanging on after they scored their second. And the ire from the fans when Tonda inevitably shit the bed and reverted to his favourite back 3 was a massive turning point and a number started chants of "Sport Republic, get out of our club". I predict that apathy and cynicism will very soon turn to toxicity with the way things are going.
  21. Well that was a strange game. We looked so comfortable in the first half - Donny offered nothing. Then we just didn't turn up after half time and the most interesting bit of the second half was the huge murmuration of starlings that was flying about in the sunset above the stadium.
  22. No, we reverted to 3/5 after conceding the two goals.
  23. That was very noticeable in the first half. Even when we were up the other end of the pitch. Couldn't see much of the goals from where we were, but his save from the FK in the first half was decent without being outstanding, and it looked like he pulled off a great double save at the end but I'd like to see a replay of that.
  24. True, but they didn't have a 3-0 lead to fuck up.
  25. I wish we were Macclesfield.
