  1. Looked to me like Adams didn't even touch the ball. That's a ridiculous decision
  2. Not after Liverpool secured a late win against WHam we can't. Best we can hope for now is second, and that would require us to beat Villa 5-0.

Yeah, there's no way that anybody could possibly come back from a horrendous knee injury and ever be a successful part of a Hasnehuttl team is there. A shame really, otherwise that Danny Ings could have been an excellent signing.
  4. Remember also they've got Targett at LB. We know very well what his weaknesses and limitations are, and although I would be reluctant to change a winning team, I think playing Theo on the right would be the best option to exploit them.
  5. Indeed. If he really was as unfit and unwell as some are claiming then surely he would have been subbed long before the 87th minute.
  6. Me neither. If you watch the replay very carefully he put his hands up to plead innocence first, then deliberately extended his right leg outwards on the next stride. It's barely noticeable, but you can see his leg go out in an unnatural direction and his foot raise up to a higher angle than his previous strides. It was obviously intentional, and his behaviour upon being shown the card clearly proves his head was gone. Reducing the suspension is an absolute joke.
  7. I'm still gobsmacked that MOTD chose not to bother showing the disallowed goal from Armstrong that the lino took an ice age to decide was offside. It looked blatant in real time on Sky but the replay showed it was actually much closer than it first looked. And it was a great finish. Just bizarre.
  8. This is from my nephew in the Everton U23s...
  9. Yep, watched the first one and thought it looked really good. I really don't get the hatred some people show towards Disco. It's far from perfect, granted, but the biggest problem people seem to have with it is "It's not Star Trek". But it very much is IMO. Much more so than the Kelvin timeline movies anyway. It's a shame people have to judge it based on their own expectations rather than on its own merits. When TNG started, a lot of people hated it and dismissed the idea of a balding English actor playing a reserved French captain of the Enterprise, and its first two seasons were mostly awful. But after it had found its feet and fans grew more attached to the characters, it eventually it became the best loved ST series of them all. Disco feels much different because it's much more cinematic looking than previous ST series, and due to the on-demand nature of TV viewing, it is serialised rather than the episodic "alien of the week" format that people were used to previously.* We've had the first two seasons of character development now, and the producers rectified the continuity problems at the end of S2 (explaining why nobody had ever mentioned the spore drive or Spock having a human sister before). Now we get to see this crew in a time period that has never been explored before in ST canon, and I'm really looking forward to how it pans out. * - on that note, I'm looking forward to seeing the Strange New Worlds spinoff show, featuring Pike and Spock. The studio have said this will be much more like the episodic and optimistic vision of the original series, and I thought Anson Mount as Pike was really good in S2 of Disco.
  10. I follow the main Everton forum (Grand Old Team) quite a lot because my nephew plays in their U23s. They are actually a very knowledgeable bunch, much more so than I have seen on some other teams' forums, that's for sure. Of course they have their share of bedwetters and drama queens, but football forums would be boring places without them. Why shouldn't they be confident? They've got an excellent manager whose influence is now shining through, they have started the season in really good form, and they are one of our bogey teams who we never seem able to beat. They have every right to be confident really. But so should we. Should be a good game.
  11. OK that was absolutely pathetic from Bednarek.
  12. Well that's wank. How did he manage to get that shot away with so many of our defenders in the way?
  13. Nice run from Theo with a decent effort from Adams on the end of it. Chelsea very good going forward but they're vulnerable at the back as well.
  14. He's now telling his supporters he is completely immune and will kiss everyone. This after it was revealed he was planning to emerge from hospital and rip off his shirt to show a superman outfit underneath. The man is completely unhinged. You can clearly see how desperate he is getting by looking at his Twitter feed over the last week. It's horrendous even by his own pathetically low standards.
  15. I can't wait for Batman to come along and tell us this is absolutely fine because "all politicians lie".
  16. Interesting to see that there is a unanimous opposition to this on the Everton forum as well - seeing as they would be one of our peers in the "top 9 but not top 6" group. https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/proposed-changes-to-the-premier-league.111306/

Sounds exactly like what happened to J-Rod. Very sad because he showed some potential and put in a few decent performances from what I remember.
  18. Provided the new signings integrate well (KWP already has), and we can sustain the confidence and fitness levels we showed during the restart, I really don't see why we can't be challenging for the Euro places by the end of the season.
  19. I browse the Grand Old Team Everton forum regularly, and there's been a lot of chatter about Walcott's potential departure to us today. Feelings seem to be mixed among their fans. Some think he still has pace and ability and is a useful option from the bench, but has lost his confidence due to not getting regular game time. Oothers reckon his legs have gone and he's a bottler and a waste of space. Given the signings they have made this summer, it's obvious he isn't going to be a regular starter for Ancellotti, so most are happy to see him moved on and get his wages off the books. I'll admit I haven't seen enough of him in recent years to make my own judgement, but if Ralph reckons he can make a contribution then I'll put my trust in him.
  20. I agree his overall performance wasn't great, but it was certainly an improvement on last week at Burnley. However, look at the goal he scored and ask yourself - would Redmond have scored from that chance? I very much doubt it. He would never have had the presence of mind to turn back onto his left foot and hit a low shot past the keeper. Most likely he would have panicked and smashed it high into the stands with his right, or dithered and given the defenders the chance to re-position themselves and get a block or tackle in. Having said that, was probably the right call to take him off after he had been booked.
  21. Considering Ali Dia never actually signed, and Osvaldo actually managed to get on the scoresheet before losing his head, I think we can safely say that's true.
  22. I guess because his greatest strength is that he's decent on the ball and has a good ability to pick a forward pass out of a defensive position. It's his last-ditch defending, heading etc... that lets him down. Therefore, he *might* be quite effective as a DM rather than a CB.
  23. One of the worst games of football I've ever watched (as happens a lot when Burnley are playing), but I'll take those 3 points. This is the kind of game we usually never win, so it's great to get a result. Plenty of players well below their best out there tonight though.
  24. Beautiful finish from Ings, but clearly offside.
