Yeah I would imagine they are one of the strongest teams in it and among the favourites for the trophy. Edit: I've just had a little butchers online and I can't find anyone offering odds on outright winner of the tournament, but at 1/5 Japan have the shortest odds of any of the teams in the competition to win their group.
