  1. Anyway, back on topic... What was that statement from May all about? She said that she believes the decision is in the best interests of the country, but there has been no 'decision' yet. It was just another typical load of waffle from her that didn't actually say anything. She did, however, appear to indicate that the option of staying in isn't completely out of the question. A change of tack from her?
  2. OK, you make a very good point and you argue it well. However, in this instance, if someone is capable of spouting such a load of ignorant, prejudicial bull**** about an entire city's population, it immediately tells me that he bases his opinions on absurd stereotypes rather than fact. So when he tries to compare the EU - the organisation responsible for maintaining the longest sustained period of peace in Europe in recorded history - to the Nazis, it's safe to say that his opinion can be ignored and/or ridiculed.
  3. It's an opinion piece. I find, when reading such things, that it's useful to know what other opinions the writer has expressed previously to help me decide whether it's an opinion worth listening to or not. Don't you?
  4. An opinion piece, written by the same guy who wrote this about Hillsborough. Yeah, safe to say we can ignore anything this pr!ck ever says.
  5. Undoubtedly. The Brexit ideologues will never accept it, so it will be rejected before it even goes to a vote in Parliament.
  6. Multiple sources on Twitter now saying that we have agreed the text of the withdrawal agreement and it is ready to be put before the cabinet.
  7. And now CNN are suing him and his administration over last week's Acosta incident.
  8. This is a fascinating thread... https://twitter.com/SethAbramson/status/1060925606966296576 You have to ask yourself, if Trump is as innocent as he claims to be, what the f**k is this all about then? I read that a legal challenge to Whitaker's appointment to AG has been launched. Seems like the whole thing could be about to unravel.
  9. "I don't want a Brexit deal" - says man whose sole job is to get a Brexit deal... http://uk.businessinsider.com/dominic-raab-is-privately-pushing-for-no-deal-brexit-2018-11
  10. Clearly there are glaring weaknesses in our squad, but they should still be good enough for more than the single paltry win we have managed this season. We play well for periods in games, then go to pieces whenever we get put under any pressure, and Hughes makes it worse by making the wrong subs and taking away any momentum we have. Bringing on JWP when you're trying to shore things up in midfield, as he has done a number of times recently, is never going to work. But he still keeps doing it and doesn't learn. It's taken him 6 months to recognise that Gabbi is the best attacking player we have and to actually give him a start. Lo and behold, he has a good game, scores, and looks dangerous. No doubt he will be dropped again for the Fulham game. He still can't decide on his best starting back four, and insists on playing Hoedt no matter how awful he may have been in his previous performances. He brings in Stephens, who actually looks quite solid, then inexplicably drops him completely. A settled, regular back four is one of the most important aspects of any team. A manager with Hughes' experience should know this. So yes, the playing squad is not great, but neither is it as bad as our league position suggests. A decent manager would be able to organise and motivate them to perform much better than they currently are.
  11. With the common factor being that we conceded late goals in all of those games, showing that we are unable to maintain defensive concentration over 95 minutes. It was nothing to do with luck. Perhaps harsh to blame it on Hughes as he had only just joined and the damage had already been done by Pellegrino, but you can't call it bad luck.
  12. So Donnie couldn't make it to the Armistice centenary parade in France because it was raining. And now, on Veterans Day in the US, he is spitting his dummy out on Twitter and genuinely suggesting they ignore democracy because the counting of the ballots from military personnel based overseas is taking too long.
  13. Is that right? Absolutely shocking if so. And unforgivable.
  14. 1. It was a crap effort that only went in because the deflection off the defender caught Foster out. 2. His overall contribution was pathetic. We lost all our forward presence when he came on because he is so ineffective at pressing, and Watford looked the better team after that. Given how crap Austin has been lately, it would have made more sense to bring on a fresh and hungry Michael Obafemi.
  15. https://twitter.com/uk_domain_names/status/1061554026284834817 Don't worry everyone. It's all going to be fine. Nothing to worry about whatsoever.
  16. Yep, pretty damming that. He needs to go. Surely nobody connected to the club genuinely believes he will turn things around when all the evidence suggests he simply doesn't have the ability of the track record to do so.
  17. Oh, I didn't realise that. In which case, they clearly got it wrong.
  18. So having seen a few replays of the disallowed goal, I think I can see why the officials made the decision they did, even if I disagree with it... It was a poor, mis-hit shot that any keeper worth his salt would have saved. If you watch Foster, he seems to stumble and delay before finally deciding to dive for it and missing. You could make the argument that, although he was static and didn't try to play the ball, Yoshida being where he was in an offside position influenced Foster's judgement and prevented him from making what really should have been a routine save. Therefore he was interfering with play. It's the only justification I can think of for it.
  19. 4 mins stoppage time. I'm going for a Watford goal on 93.
  20. Of the available substitutes, who would you have brought on instead?
  21. Off the bar. If we manage to hold on for a draw I will be amazed.
  22. Hudds 1-1 WHU
  23. To make up for not giving Watford a cast-iron penalty I guess.
  24. So they finally showed a replay. The officials are having a bit of a 'mare today aren't they.
  25. Watford with 72% possession since HT. Come on Hughes, you need to change this up somehow, because if you don't, and we somehow hang on for the win, it will be nothing short of a miracle.
