Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Sheaf Saint replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Of course it's garbage and idiotic. You know that, and I know that, but let's not pretend there aren't some morons out there who actually believe it. You only have to look at the comments section of a Britain First Facebook post to see just how truly hateful and ignorant people can be. Guilty of what though? That's the key question here. It's all very well saying she's guilty by association, but we should be very clear about what she should actually be charged with if she ever returns to the UK. I have no time for this girl. I find her extreme views and her expressions of support for the Manchester arena attacker very distasteful indeed. But, like it or not, our laws apply to everyone equally (unless you're an MP and/or extremely rich and can buy your own justice, of course). I don't want her coming back to Britain to spread her hate-filled bile, but what concerns me perhaps even more is the idea that our government can arbitrarily decide what laws should and should not apply to her, and dish out summary justice because the pitch-fork brigade demand it. Being fair to Sadoldgit, I read that as meaning that he is more concerned about the threat that her husband poses to our security, rather than showing more compassion towards him. Nothing racist or sexist about that at all IMO. -
I reckon the club will reluctantly cut their losses on those loanees and accept knock-down fees for them, so I doubt we will see many/any of them back here next season. The squad obviously needs major surgery and we have to clear some dead wood to make room for the kind of players Ralph wants to bring in.
-
Yes, but given they are currently 2 points behind us, they need to get 3 points more than us between now and the end of the season in order to achieve that.
-
Yep. Looks more like a showroom than an actual home.
-
Where does this idea come from regarding Boufal? I know he comes across as a selfish player on the pitch, but all the noises I have heard suggest that he was actually quite well liked by most of the other players. Does it all stem from the way he celebrated that goal against WBA in Pellegrino's face? I agree that was not acceptable behaviour, but that is something that *could* be coached out of him. If we don't sell him in the summer then I would be happy to see if RH can get something like the best out of him because he is clearly a very talented player.
-
This. He contributed more in a single half than Moi has managed all season.
-
And Pickford. He was all over the show against Newcastle and was very lucky not to be sent off.
-
So you think that a red card should mean the team gets to make an instant substitution and keep it at 11v11, but a yellow should mean 5 minutes of being down to ten men? That doesn't make any sense to me. A 5 minute sin-bin for a yellow card could work, but not allowing a substitution for a red. Imagine how many players would "take one for the team" knowing full well there is someone on the bench ready to come on in their place. That would just encourage professional fouls and deliberate handballs to prevent almost certain goals even more, surely?
-
In fairness, you wouldn't necessarily need to break the bank in order to get players significantly better than what we already have. We know that we were looking at Che Adams in January, and he is described as talented but very raw. We didn't meet the asking price but he'll go somewhere for around £20m in the summer. A signing like that is by far a better long term option than either Long or Austin, and is not a huge sum of money in today's market. I guess it all hinges on us getting decent-ish fees for Cedric, Hoedt, Carillo and/or Boufal (who I still believe could be of some use to us in Ralph's system next season if we can't offload him).
-
I think we need to replace our entire strike force in the summer, with the only exception being Ings but then his injury record makes him unreliable too. Just looking back through our results and Long's goal against Leicester is still the only one scored by one of our strikers so far in 2019
-
Not quite. On GD Brighton should be above Bournemouth.
-
And then do a Saints special and concede a 93rd minute equaliser.
-
That much has been obvious since August, but he was hopeless today.
-
Poor dad. What happened?
-
Yes, it was Armstrong, not Sims. They do look kinda similar though.
-
People are saying they should have had two red cards. The foul on Sims was one - what was the other? Was it the little skirmish between Redmond and Sissoko? I didn't see that properly as I was a bit distracted.
-
We leapfrog Burnley, who are away at Liverpool tomorrow.
-
Incredible comeback. Should stick Valery and JWP up front for the next game!
-
Unbelievable that we didn't get a FK for that high boot on Sims. Actually, no it's totally believable.
-
They haven't won yet.
-
After today, Cardiff still have to play 4 of the top 6. We only have to play one of them. That's what I'm clinging on to anyway.
-
Fcks sake. West Ham picked a terrible game (from our perspective) to have one of their off-days.
-
First thing Sims does is hit a shot on target. First thing Long does is mis-control the ball and give it away.
-
Amazing we're still in it really. Could easily be 4-0 down. We need more threat up front. Once again, Redmond is being expected to carry it all on his own. Austin offers nothing and needs to be replaced at HT if we're gonna find a way back into this.
