It won't. 5 years ago we were sitting at the top of the PL (albeit briefly). Under SR we'll be lucky if we ever get promoted again, let alone reach that height. The worst part is that for all those years under Gao we were crying out for an owner who could actually invest in the squad. And when we finally get one they turn out to be a bunch of utterly incompetent clowns who have made us soooo much worse.

Not as a manager. He was only really known in this country for conceding that penalty at the world cup in 2002.
-
It was only 5 years ago that we were where they are now. The damage that SR have done in that short time is quite breathtaking.

This isn't the positive you think it is. Swansea were absolutely dreadful - worst team I've seen at SMS this season (even Wrexham had some kind of attacking threat). We have no excuses for failing to beat them today. None.

This is the crux. I think it was @benjii on the match thread today that made the point that we were desperate for a goal in a game we were dominating, and the striker we signed in the summer wasn't good enough to get off the bench and provide it. It's this repeated failure to upgrade in positions that literally everyone except SR can see need upgrading that is killing us time and time again.

Corner to Swansea. Sucker punch goal incoming.

Fuck me. It's not happening today is it.
-
No, evidently not.

Fellows on for Jelert. Perhaps going to back 4 with Edwards at RB and Fellows ahead of him?
-
Blackmore not sure what Vipotnik got booked for. Really?
-
How the holy fuck is this still 0-0!

I suppose some people are going to slate Arma for not scoring that rebound as well, yeah?
-
Yeah I'd like to see that again.

Scienza is rapidly becoming the most exciting player we've had for a long time.
-
That's not a foul FFS.

Tessem regularly talks bollocks, and this is yet another example.

Are people really criticising Archer for that? Jeez. Just sat up too high for him.
-
Oh that's close. Just too quick for Archer to react.
-
Said the same about Derby two weeks ago. They were just as poor.

Well I enjoy the posts. Sometimes the sardonic humour is the only enjoyment I get on match days, so long may he keep doing it.

Deary me. I look at that lineup and for the life of me I can't even guess what the shape is going to be. There's some positives there, like Manning being dropped and Jelert coming in on the other side, but it's hard to escape the conclusion that this is yet another desperate tombola draw team selection from WS, who clearly still doesn't have the slightest clue what his best eleven is. Armstrong and Archer are too similar and neither have enough physical presence, so I can't see that working up top. THB coming in for Quarshie is questionable. He doesn't have anything like the speed or strength to play the same role so I don't know how the 3 CBs will combine. Pleased to see Scienza keep his place, but how on earth can a team struggling for goals be leaving players like Fellows, Azaz and Robinson all on the bench. Are we relying on the wing backs to provide width in attack, crossing to two strikers who are both hopeless headers of the ball? I hate being pessimistic and I really want Still to come good, but this just looks like another total mess, and will likely be followed up by him subbing half the team at some point which will just make it even more disjointed, as he always does. I'm not sure I even want to watch 😕

Yes, yes. But there's not even a realistic 'IF' here is there. If you even consider it a remote possibility that Trump has the ability to broker a deal with Putin that is acceptable to Ukraine then you're utterly deluded.

"We took care of him and did everything we could" I'm pretty sure that taking a player who has barely played for three years and starting him three times in seven days shows that statement to be blatantly false.
