  1. That's not really the point I was trying to make. What I'm trying to say is that everyone should have the same opportunity to prosper fully, those who get a better education simply because of parents wealth get a foot up in life. Obviously though who then waste that opportunity shouldn't be given a foot up or vice versa??? If you get what I mean...
  2. Missed my point. Oh well. I was simply trying to get across that they don't necessarily need to be given tickets. Most soldiers get paid more than a nurse... should they get a free ticket too?
  3. http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/2010/aug/15/a-level-results-private-schools Now once again, people coming out of private schools are getting better grades. I personally think that it is a sorry state of affairs when you can waltz your way through social mobility and get a better start in life simply because you have the cash. Everyone should have the same equal opportunities in life, and at the moment it really isn't happening. Results every year are just one example. Anyone else here think it is unfair you can pay your way to a better education?
  4. I'm not saying they have 'more money to play with', I'm just saying all these stories that soldiers are all forced to live in abject poverty because of their wage is also ****e! Edit: I'm also not saying they shouldn't get paid a little bit more, but it just annoys me how much people seem to think they need. But this is beyond saints related, so I should probably stop arguing about this on this forum.
  5. Then it's obviously normal, but I know that many people in the army live in army accommodation(which is a pile of ****e though), which also cuts costs... basically my point is all this moaning about the army wage is ott, they get a lot provided for them through benefits that come with the job.
  6. What I mean is like when they are on their tour of places, they aren't having to buy things which everyone else has to everyday(food for example), so the wages are a lot more reasonable than people think.
  7. The army wage is better than you think, remember that when they are away at training camps and abroad they have living costs paid.
  8. If this is true, how will he make his money back? I know there is money in football, but really? Come on...
  9. A banner like that would be very nice actually.
  10. I know you are being joking, but why Waigo is obviously not a legend, I would give him Cult Hero status
  11. Ctrl + Print screen it into paint.
  12. I would be extremely happy if Southampton was to transfer to her. I'm sure she would take good care of us as Markus Liebherr's daughter.
  13. Someone said earlier that under Swiss law his estate automatically goes to his family for now. The Guardian and Telegraph articles indicate that he made provision for saints before he died and also indicate that his family want to continue what he started. I would also imagine that a Billionaire would have all this kind of stuff very well arranged due to the sheer wealth and complexity of how things could pan out after he dies. He wouldn't have wanted his life work of building up his empire to simply crumble once he was no longer there.
  14. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/aug/11/markus-liebherr-southampton-future There we go.
  15. Highly unlikely, as NC doesn't have the cash to carry through his investment. Much more likely it'll just be someone in his family, I don't know whether they have been to games but I imagine if they actually own us they would take a bigger interest. Also, if it is someone in his family, they are much more likely to feel a moral obligation to the club.
  16. Maybe??? Not sure, I think something has totally erased him from my mind.
  17. Wow, really recent then... yet I have absolutely no memory of him :/
  18. We'll be owned by whoever he leaves us to in his will.
  19. Not sure I remember him if I am honest... what years did he play for us?
  20. I expect in his will, he will have left the stuff he owns to various different people, probably people in his family. Either way, to shocked to think too much about this just now
  21. I am absolutely shocked and actually I am quite sad as well Rest in peace Markus, we won't forget you.
  22. http://www.pcworld.com/article/199328/android_vs_iphone_5_battlefields.html I'd think it is a very close call. Android phones mean a lot of choice and are much more open as you indicate, and my android is brilliant... If you get an Android, I'd recommend an HTC Desire or an X10 if you want to go that little bit further(though this phone might be a bit big for you). Don't get the HTC Wildfire if you are going for Android as it is a smartphone on a budget and as you are considering an iPhone I assume your budget is large and so you might as well pay a little bit more for something which is the real deal. The iPhone probably runs slightly smoother than android, but in all honesty there is not much difference... every useful app will be available on both. iPhone is a little bit more expensive if you get the latest one, but yer, it all comes down to personal preference. I suggest going in store and trying them out. Both are brilliant in their own way. You just need to shop around more with Android as obviously the phone hardware quality and camera and shizz will vary greatly between each phone, the iPhone has no variance like this. Well, that was a ramble, I hope you can decode it!
  23. I think part of the problem is the close season. Every single year in between seasons things deteriorate, and usually it repairs itself to a degree once the proper football restarts and people have something substantial to discuss.
  24. I'll remember what I think is my first derby game I went to in 2004. Southampton 2 Portsmouth 1, in the premiership(how times change). Dexter Blackstock got the first!
  25. I don't care how big of a 'favourite' we are. I'm still nervous and won't believe it till I see us play this saturday!
