Cortese is obviously very persuasive. This has been shown many times before in appointments and players brought to the club, so I wouldn't be suprised if he did pull a BIG name out of the hat for us.

Puncheon for all his faults was by far our best player. At least he TRIED to do something and why he is frustrating when he hogs, you feel like he CAN do something. We did a lot of passing today and not much breaking through. Connolly isn't up to it, Lambert should be but he is fecking useless at the moment. Oxlade-Chamerlain was good today, I also felt liek he could create something at any time... What we miss is Papa Waigo, he came on in games like that last year for us and changed it up. He always delivered something. I miss him

If he didn't have someone lined up, it is likely this sacking has been caused by an event. As we do not know the seriousness of this event, we can not really criticise the decision in this way.

I don't think sharing a room with his special adviser is THAT suspicious. People in these positions will just work through the night and it would be easier to do so when in the same room. I don't think the statement was necessarily the best idea though, I hadn't heard this rumour until he released that statement.
