This is from the BBC: In a season that has had little cheer, there has been some encouragement from the Saints' recent performances that could give the fans hope for the future, which now looks most likely to be as a Championship club. My worry is that those making the decisions at St Mary’s don’t see what we see and should be blindingly obvious. if RS isn’t gone at the end of the season then we really are in big trouble. Worryingly I don’t have total confidence in SR to to do the right thing.

I understand that Saints have already agreed to refund the travelling supporters for the performance. Selles said ‘We really appreciate the support they give us and recognise that with my incompetence and the players lack of application that it’s only right and proper that we refund the fans for this game. The fact that the game hasn’t taken place yet is irrelevant as we all know what garbage we’ll serve up’.

For me Selles has been the worst manager I’ve seen in 40 plus years of watching Saints - no question. He’s had a few contenders, but when the chips were down and we had to show some mettle, which should have started with him, he consistently bottled it with appalling team selections and tactics.

I’m assuming given McCarthys contract situation he won’t be able to play enough games this season to trigger his salary increase so he’ll play for the rest of the season.

If we’d have been offered Woy people would have scoffed. Warnock would be a perfect appointment in the Championship. He knows the league inside out, won’t take crap off owners and will certainly not put up with the half arsed performances our players have put in this season.

Yes a good start. However it was a shocker of a mistake which for once we took advantage of. The pattern of play for the first 6 minutes is showing what’s really happening and Arsenal will still win at a canter
