If I was Ralph I'd keep them out there with the fitness trainer, sprint exercises and WGS character running. Strikers, Redmond and JWP (the only outfield players who have vaguely tried or worked hard IMO) can work on hold ups and finishing with the subs supplying them. The players would just have to deal with it and a bit of flak from the fans would build resilience and personality. There's a gap to the next game so it won't hurt them.

Lack of effort is disgusting, crowd need to absolutely hammer the players at HT, 'you're not fit to wear the shirt, what a load of rubbish' etc. PEH is so lazy with the goal, just watches the run. If you aren't consistently good enough to be a PL player, which PEH and 90% of the side aren't, at least put in some graft and effort eh? Most of the 90s side weren't either bar the bloke wearing 7, but heck they worked hard.

How about a sponsor that reflects what we all suspect about Gao - Cash Convertors
-
See what you saying. Gao might disappear quicker than Oystons did if we go down in the next couple of seasons. Mind you, depends who the club was then sold to. I just don’t like the idea of someone who failed FAPP owning the club, it’s revolting. For me it isn’t Saints. I suppose where I’m different is I’ve given up attending football games altogether as I couldn’t watch another club on a regular basis. Have been to a few Exeter Chiefs games but it is not a cheap substitute either.

Yes please. Gao, Liebherr, Kreuger and Wilson out.
-
Go for the most lucrative. Hopefully stay up, ok next year, Gao sells up, KL gone with Kreuger and get an owner who actually gives a toss.

Best of luck to Tadic and Ajax - a 4-1 win at Real is something special and it’s great to see them really competitive at the top level again. I think no-one begrudges him a bit, it’s the fact that the idiot duo then paid several million more for someone who has yet to have a good sixty seconds at the club. He’s not even had a few moments like Gaston let alone really strong first season like Dusan had before inconsistency set in (pace of the game suits Tadic better there). In fact there’s little evidence so far that he is any better than David Lee or Stuart Ripley. The fact that only one of that duo has been sacked by the club rankles even more.

Checked the Indy match report and watched You Tube. Definitely a certain S Dunn from Bristol. Still don’t see an issue with the goal. Fergie thought we were very unlucky overall and I agree, remember feeling gutted as we’d been poor all season but Whispering Dave got the tactics spot on with two wide players. Imagine Puel, Pellegrino or Hughes being that bold! Ralph might have been reckon. Never forgave Dunn for that, and he was terrible when I saw him referee other games not involving Saints.

Mark Clattenburg (yes I know!) has apparently said in one of the tabloids this morning that Saints should have had two clear penalties on Saturday. Personally, I would only have referees from other major towns and cities at OT, Man U were so dominant for 20 years+ that a % of people outside of an area with a large-medium sized team are likely to be Man U fans. Attwell certainly refereed like Man U had just plucked someone from the Streatford End with a shirt on. Worst refereeing I've seen that we've recieved there since 1996 and Steve Dunn/Shipperley clear goal. Even Fergie didn't know why it was ruled out. Plenty of teams have suffered over the years - Spurs and Roy Carroll spilling the ball a mile over the line (and the lino was in line with it - so blatant it didn't need VAR). Blackburn having a blatant equalising goal disallowed etc which was yard onside. Pretty much every team that has spent time in the PL in the last 20 years would have a story. I don't blamte Man U as a club either - they have every right to build a successful brand. There is also the risk that normal errors get badged as bias - but there were too many on Saturday going one way to not be noted further. Doubt the assessor will do anything though.

Nice one Dodd is a Legend. Grayling now an national and international humiliation for May, the Tory Party and the entire UK system. Even the Telegraph and Sun rate him now as the worst minister from any party ever. In fact, none of the Brexiteers have been anything other than abject. Fox has been a disaster yet again, I’m sure the trade deal ready with the Faroes will help. Boris is widely regarded as the worst ever Foreign Secretary, William Hague he is not. Couldn’t remember any of his lines from his team of minions, and semi fly spent his time womanising and stuffing his face. David Davis thinks he should be PM but couldn’t even be bothered to attend most of the meetings in Brussels. Not a details person clearly. Then his successor Rabb C Nes-**** thinks the EU is backtracking on the Good Friday Agreement. You co-negotiated the wording with them numbnuts! Well until the heat in the kitchen got too much and Barclay had to take over. Only Gove shows any hint of competence and it’s interesting how he has cooled on a hard Brexit seeing the realities of office for more than 5 minutes and actually doing some work. If you offered me a choice of voting for this lot, Corbyn and his Trots or Major scandal hit government of the 90s I’d actually have to vote for Major. Scary.

Was acting skipper for SL’s win in SA. Don’t know what he is like against the moving ball but coped with a high quality attack overseas. Good signing on paper

Crucial win - game over without it. Decent few days with Cardiff losing both home games, shipping eight and then this win. JWP excellent, Redmond good, some tidy performances elsewhere without going OTT. Fulham just too weak at the back and Rico looked less than commanding. The gate was a far bigger warning to Gao, KL and Kreuger than any banner - go, we want you gone, asap.
-
You’ve got to say that if Cardiff lose again tonight then that is a real surprise, Watford and Everton home you’d think would be four points minimum with the form they had. Instead it looks like two defeats, barring a big comeback, and seven conceded at the time of writing. Unfortunately Gao FC are so dire I can see them letting Fulham back into proceedings tomorrow night. Hope I am wrong.
-
Quite. I know he just missed a sitter but Brighton have Murray and Knockaert. Although Locadia is injured isn’t he? Cardiff we could possibly finish above if our players show a bit of resolve and effort but giving them six effortless points was stupid. Wood and Barnes are scoring for Burnley. Gao Fc, formerly SFC 1886-2017, in January sold our Italian international and relied on two strikers with terrible injury records and even tried to sell one of those and failed pathetically. Also left the club relying on a guy who scores one a season and a middling Championship striker who hasn’t played this season. Anyone see the issue with the indecent rush for Sterling - and I’m not talking about Raheem
-
This. Saints and Pompey do seem to attract some seemingly questionable owners and figures though - Gao, CSI, Chainrai, Gaydamak - whereas Brighton, Leicester seems to attract genuine figures who want to invest in the club and the area. Will reserve judgement on Bournemouth and Wolves owners for the longer term. Happy to get involved with SFC once again when the club is clean and Gao-free
-
See from the Times that Jim Ratcliffe - not using Sir when not merited - is wrapping up assets to hide about £4bn of tax overseas. Campaign to destroy our economy via UKIP, use taxpayer funded roads and infrastructure for years, flog your workers to death and then clear off without contributing. Scum, utter scum.
-
Quite. As Zac Goldsmith said (probably just to the left of Corbyn in Wes’s eyes) Chope doesn’t seem to have these procedural issues when one of his friends - from CWF or Leave Means Leave - proposes a motion. Chope’s record is abysmal - it’s worth looking up - and doesn’t belong in a civilised society in any party. Not only has Jarvis now stuck the boot in - don’t blame him as Chope is clearly very bigoted - but also his own old fogies in Dorset have started to realise he is too extreme for even them and are looking to deselect.
-
Yep, that’s my view of it as well and why I won’t attend home games until he has gone lock, stock and barrel. He’s no better than the likes of Chainrai who the skates had to endure. KL has soiled her father’s name in association with SFC and the first thing I would do if Gao is re-name the academy after MLT. I doubt she would be bothered as she’s made plenty of money out of us yet wants leach yet more. Wouldn’t have minded her selling at a healthy profit at all but never to someone as clearly dubious as that. As far as I’m concerned SFC passed away in 2017 and doesn’t exist again until he has gone.
-
Simple answer = cheap. There were many thickies slow to catch on in 08/09 as well. Like that era, fans need to force a change of ownership by boycotting. Look at that 08/09 side, most of them bar Lallana and Morgan vanished down the leagues or out of the game altogether. Saints are prone to ambitious and insular cycles, best to sit out the latter so the former comes round again faster than last time.
-
Save your money for when Gao is gone - he won’t us any of his so don’t let him have any of yours. Negative tactics today, appalling defending from Stephens and the useless Vestergaard (even for Les and Ross, signing a huge centre half scared to head the ball represneted a session on the whisky too far) Valero and Redmond only people to make any effort. PEH and Romeu dreadful and both were pulling caravans. Will regain some interest when rebuilding the club in League One with a new owner. Cardiff wanted it more, neither set of players would be particularly wanted by Championship
-
If they we don’t score then relegation confirmed, failure to strengthen in January sealed their fate.
-
Not surprised - wasn’t he Southampton Itchen MP in the 1980s? No wonder Dunham and Whitehead lasted so long. When you look at his longer-term record, no wonder most of his party pm to quote one of my contacts, believe him to be ‘odious’. Steered the poll tax legislation through, the worst piece ever to go through the HoC, tried to create an opt out on the minimum wage, climate change sceptic, voted down anything to do with gender equality and same sex marriage, filibustered on both the Hillsborough enquiries and upskirting bills. That is the tiny tip of a huge iceberg. No surprises that he’s a member of Conservative Way Forward and Leave Means Leave. Why hasn’t May sacked him? Tory party needs to grow a pair and get rid this of this total c unt

That's way too well considered, balanced and articulated to possibly have a place on this thread. Or to appear in the hysterical press and HoC as well in the discourse. Well done though, and if more people thought like this I'd be more confident of people acting like adults and compromising so the vote is respected but economic damage is limited. Healing the geographical and demongraphic schisms Cameron has opened up will take generations however, if ever at all.

I’d love to see that goal v Cardiff from 2007 again, cannot find it online.
