  1. Great no nonsense pro, exactly the sort of player we needed last season, sad to say. Down to earth, humble player who always gave it his best. Some of the younger, image conscious players would do very well to follow his example both on and off the field.

    Jose Fonte

Non starter, move on. There is no place for sentiment if you are chasing success.
  3. Joking aside it's quite worrying that we don't have anyone in the whole squad who fits the bill. We lacked balls, bottle and leadership all last season resulting in one of our worst ever seasons. Where we are going we will need players who can step upto the mark, bully and organise when necessary. The championship is unforgiving, if we don't start well, we have few leaders to sort things out.
  4. Yep, that's exactly where I'm at as well. But I've got to be honest, I'm not confident that we will do anything other than struggle in the championship - nowhere near enough real leaders.
  5. I think it's illegal to do motions in the English channel, so I think it's safe to assume he was swimming.
  6. Got off lightly, absolute scum. Hopefully United have banned him for life.
  7. Given the state of that shirt I don't blame them. I don't normally do the annual 'new shirt' debate, but I think this shirt is hideously rank. Apologies to the lovers.
  8. Would like to see him go to Liverpool where he might only be a bit part player, but he'd have a decent chance of winning something. West Ham have won their 40 year trophy so can't see them winning anything again anytime soon.
  9. 👆 ta for that, very helpful, much appreciated.
  10. I believe it was only 20 minutes each way as well, so unfortunately the ladies didn't come out of it too well. Quite a few tubers in the US jumping on this one to highlight that perhaps equality in pay for male and female soccer players is probably not justified just yet.
  11. Yeah whatever, you get the point though.
  12. Everton survive. Goodbye to the shittyest of shit seasons. A paltry 25 points in a season when 35 would keep you up, what a fucking mess we are.
  13. Pretty standard result for us these days, the club probably considers it pretty good to only lose 3 - 1 away to a team that has qualified for Europe. Our bar is very, very low, yeah 3 - 1 against mighty Brighton is decent really.
  14. Not sure that the board, manager or players give a shyte, and frankly neither do I. After 50 years of supporting this club I don't think I've ever felt so removed from football as I do right now. We are a shambles from top to bottom and there are no quick fixes.
  15. Mate, you could go with Snow White and the seven fucking dwarfs and if wouldn't make a blind bit of difference...!

    Che Adams

Agreed, but by God its a very low bar. We desperately need a main striker who can score goals, and then perhaps Che doing the 'Shane Long' donkey work and chipping in single figure goals for the season.
  17. We have some that are so bad it is criminal that they are allowed to put 'Premiere League Footballer' on their CV's. I'm not quite sure how, but we have amassed a shit load of woeful footballers. Next season will be worse than this unless some drastic changes are made pretty quickly.
  18. Deserved.
  19. I sincerely hope that you are correct and I am mistaken, but I see very little leadership in this group of players, especially once we go behind.
  20. This whole team gets dicked in the championship. Anyone who thinks that next season will simply be a new dawn where everything is OK is in for a rude awakening. This club is fucked from top to bottom, mess.
  21. Agreed. But will we be competitive? I'm not so sure.
  22. Got what we deserved again, decent effort but nowhere near enough quality, we are a woeful team.
  23. Embarrassing.
  24. FFS that is a really low bar..! We could be miles better than this season and still go down, we are that bad.
  25. Alcatraz stupid foul.
