  1. Just knock it about at the back boys, bags of time...!!
  2. Doing OK. Only two down.
  3. We are a basket case.....
  4. Lol another pen.
  5. Yeah I know, when you get back you can watch it for yourself.
  6. Watch it back, it's not difficult to spot. It was a pen.
  7. The real killer will be our total lack of urgency in the second half. We will come out thinking we have plenty of time to turn it around and just play our normal 'patient' game. Then in the last 5 minutes they'll realise that they need to get a grip, by then it'll be too late. Seen it hundreds of times with these clowns. If I was the manager I'd be screaming at them in that dressing room that I want them to go all out and get back in the game quickly.
  8. Yeah, it was handball. Blatant pen.
  9. Personally I hope he does go, he deserves a whole lot better than us. He's done as much as he can here, and doesn't deserve to be playing in the championship. I really can't see us being back in the top flight for many years now so I hope he doesn't 'stay with us for one season' to get us up - never gonna happen. All of that said I can't see him at a top 6 club, as we know he plays every minute of every game, but he would have to spend a lot of time on the bench at a top club. Unfortunately I see him at Villa, West ham or Everton even, a mid table type club. Whatever happens, I wish him well, this clusterfuck is not his making.
  10. Lol. That's us going hell for leather in a 'must win' 6 pointer...! Classic saints.
  11. Agree to a point, Long, despite his lack of goals, could actually do a job for us when we were leading and trying to close the game out. He'd be no good to us now though because we are very rarely leading. Loved his work ethic alongside other strikers, that was his strength, but he was only a four or five a season striker.
  12. Ahhh right, sorry, didn't make the connection (or I'm much more of a realist - no way will we win the FA Cup). If the impossible did happen I really couldn't see it attracting many players that could get decent prem clubs and wages, let's face it any European tour would be very brief!
  13. David Ginola reckons Newcastle will be at Wembley every year....!
  14. I don't think you needed to highlight the stats, the problem has been clear to many on here for ages. We are all well aware that our 'strikers' are basically crap. Many, many posters on here have been saying for ages (from last season even) that we need a quality (QUALITY) striker - its been plain to see for ages without having to analyse any stats. The reason for our demise has not been hard to see, but we have contrived to not address the problem.
  15. Sorry, I don't understand. Very few (and I mean very few) of our players are good enough for the Premiere League. How in the hell can they be aspiring to European football given the crap they've produced this season.
  16. Want Everton and West Ham. Will be Bournemouth and Leeds.
  17. And in those 3 lines you have basically highlighted the reason we have been relegated. We don't score goals. You can have as much of the ball as you like, but if you don't score, you don't win. Our front players are dire, players we have gambled on from lower leagues who frankly are nowhere near premiership quality. The 3 new boys, from the little I've seen, also look poor at this level and there is no way they are going to score enough goals to keep us up. Why our owner and various different managers can't see this is beyond me. Goals win games and we very rarely score any. It ain't rocket science.
  18. I think the focus now needs to be on what do we do next season, that is their main problem. The championship is a tough uncompromising league, how do they intend to run the club next season. Personally I think we have seen the last of the Premiere League for many years unless something really drastic happens next year.
  19. Feel for the kid a bit, yeah he's not great and he fucked up today, should've saved it. That said, there's tons of pressure on him because he knows we've got little chance of scoring at the other end when he does fuck up. It's not his fault he was given an opportunity way above his capability.
  20. Win a few games...! How on earth are we going to win a few games. We have just gone through a period of about seven winnable games, and won one, just one. We got lucky with an out of form Chelsea and today have reverted to type, yet another gutless performance. We will win a few games, between now and the end of the season, but we have basically meakly surrendered out premiership status without so much as a fight.
  21. We have let the quality erode out of the club over time, Fonte, Hoijberg, Ings, Oriel, and a good few others all gone. All needed replacing with proven quality at prem level, but weren't. We gambled far too much on youth and untried players at this level and it has failed miserably. Back in the day we were built from a top notch goalkeeper, with good defenders in front of him, then we had midfielders who could win and create, but we also had strikers that could score. There is none, none of that in this 'team' of misfits, sorting this mess out is going to take some time. We tried to be to clever, you reap what you sow.
  22. Exactly. This is the first problem that we are going to have next season. The very little quality that we do have will go and we will be left with some very poor players in a very tough league. I really do not see any quick fix to this and fear we will see even lower leagues than the championship fairly soon.
  23. Goodbye the premiere league. We won't be back for many, many years mark my words. This club needs a complete reset. Watching that shower of shyte, I feel for Markus tonight.
  24. Well we were bad in the first half we're even worse now.
  25. Not really, he's had some ups and downs, in this one. But obviously that goes against the narrative.
