  1. Bloody awful. Players trying to play passes that were never ever on, losing 50/50 tackles, weak in the air, constantly giving the ball away. As soon as any pressure is bought to bear we wilt all over the pitch, no leadership. We were mediocre up until they scored, after that, not for the first time this season, it was like watching the keystone cops, total panic right across the park. We're through, but we're going to have to play a whole lot better than that to progress any further.
  2. Course we are still in it, this is football, strange things happen. We know exactly what we have to do. We have to go for it, it's a one off game, if we score first and at the right time, who knows what might happen. They get edgy, we get an 88th minute winner. Stranger things have happened. All of that said we could get tonked and I don't fancy us if we go to pens!
  3. Looks like we'll be getting united in the final, 2 nil up at forest just before half time.
  4. Can someone please explain how 'we are close to being a good team' when we are bottom of the bloody league that we are supposed to be competing in?
  5. Better in the second half but still nowhere near good enough to get a result, and nil 1 probably flattered us a bit. Thought the new lad in midfield looked tidy, but when you've got our front line it's pretty difficult to create much. I have to say that the sky coverage was sickening absolutely shyte, the presenter, pundits and commentry team did nothing but wax lyrical about Newcastle from start to finish, we were nothing but the whipping boys for them. It ain't gonna happen, but I would love to go to sjp and wipe the floor with them just to shut them up.
  6. Its obvious that these commentators want to see Newcastle in the final. As far as sky are concerned we are simply making up the numbers.
  7. Not if he managed to keep them up at our expense!
  8. Exactly, it's amazing how dire the situation has to get before the players and management realise that we are up to our eyes in deep smelly stuff. Yes there are 19 or so games to go, but how many points did we manage to amass in our last 19 games. Our form needs to improve drastically in order to survive this season.
  9. Notoriously difficult to bring in anybody with any real quality during the Jan transfer window. Add the fact that we are pretty much already relegated, then we are not a great proposition for anybody with any real premiere league ambition. Personally, I agree with you, doubt we will see anyone else bought in - we appear to be prepping for the championship.
  10. Totally agree, I don't see us being back in the premiereship for years. As you said the championship is a graveyard of 'good teams'. The Sheffield's, Sunderland, West Brom, Norwich, QPR - and quite a few others, all comparable to us in terms of resources. We made our way out of the lower league last time because of the investment Markus poured into the club. I can't see the current owners doing the same, we are lower league bound for many, many years methinks.
  11. I think you have to appreciate the ability level of some of our players, which in a lot of cases is very low. Che's performance today was probably around par for him, don't forget he'll miss at least one sitter per game. He's playing to the best of his ability, it's just that he's not very good. If you think Che's not good though, don't get me started on Adam Armstrong - complete fraud of a player.
  12. The real depressing thing is lots of teams will take 6 points from us this season - easily.
  13. We've just finished a run of 6 'winnable' games, remind me, how many points did we manage to muster?
  14. He had his ups and downs today, he's not premiere league quality, but then again that could be leveled at quite a few of our starting 11.
  15. Remove the rose tints. There were measuring lines, he was onside, we failed to defend a simple free kick. There's no conspiracy at work here, we are shyte.
  16. And that's why we'll be relegated. Absolute garbage, home game in which we never, ever looked like scoring. Woeful performance, no composure on the ball at all, and I lost count of the times we gave it away cheaply, barely strung 3 passes together. Lots of hoof ball with no invention at all. Villa were not a good side, but they were miles better than us, and let's be honest, the scoreline flattered us as well. I said pre-match that this is a game we mustn't lose, at half time I would've taken a point, but honestly, we got what we deserved in the end. We are in big trouble.
  17. Back to the bad old days, no intensity, no control and definitely no goal threat. Villa will be gutted that they haven't got the lead, played us off the park in that half. We are going to need to improve ten fold to win this one (not that I have any faith at all in Armstrong or Adams to score). I'd probably take a point now if offered, it was fairly obvious that they were much better than us. Crap half.
  18. Most of our players would struggle to hit a 747, never mind a poxy drone!
  19. Really important game in the context of our season. If we can't win it, then don't lose it, important to keep the momentum going and building the confidence. A win would be a big step forwards, buy the manager and players a fair amount of credit.
  20. I reckon a lot of people would've said exactly the same about Anfield.
  21. Aaahhhh just a large slice of humble pie for me then chef....! Brilliant performance all over the pitch tonight. Get me some points and I may start to believe.
  22. We've done nothing yet, get some context, look at their bench. If we are in front at full time I'll scoff all the humble pie you want. But even if we do win it NJ needs to get us points very quickly before i become a convert.
  23. That's decent, given our recent form.
