Agreed - he served them very well over the years, just a shame that they turned to him as it was all going pear shaped. Would have been very difficult for him to turn them down - and now it's all gone 'pete tong' he leaves a club he served with distinction, for many many years, under a cloud. Very, very sad really.

I notice you were quick to report this story, and also notice your username - you're not the one and only Delia Smith - are you...??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_8JLkwzpd0 I rest my case, M'lud...!!

As we are talking euphemisms, "Parting of the waves" tends to suggest a god like figure who can walk on water, hardly likely to have been sacked methinks..! Obviously "Parting of the ways" would suggest something completly different though...!

Go on - make yourself an ITK legend and tell us all - you know you want to really...!

Whilst I agree and take your point - this was in fact no less than what Pinnacle had in store for us if they were successful with thier bid (allegedly).

Warnock - envious of us being able to sign Lambert for £1m

I have a few contacts in that area - perhaps I could help him out, all he needs to do is make contact with LLS who in turn will set up a meeting with a very reputable Dr - well regarded in the game - honest guv...! -
Damn - got me...

If it is - it's a very good fake site and Saga should be flattered that he is the subject of such an elaborate hoax. I think it's got legs, just poor timing by somebody in the reporting chain.

Translation appears to indicate more of a loan move. Edit - perhaps I got that wrong - helps if I translate Portugese as opposed to Spanish I guess.... doooh! Last Minute Marek Saganowski about to sign The Sport Lisboa e Benfica is about to sign contract with Marek Saganowski. Sources close to the process say that the agreement is to brief and presentation can now be done in the next game to be held in the Stadium of Light The fans are euphoric and anxious to see Marek Saganowski serve the Highest of the World Club.

What I really want to know is how did he know the difference between the car park and Fartton Park..? Both resemble land fill sites...!

Ummmm should be winning it outright with that many points still available, surely.

How about a blast from the past, but brilliant, brilliant game. Craig Maskell against Liverpool Tue 15 Feb 94 - if you were there you will remember it, for those that weren't, The Independant sums it all up very nicely. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football-le-tissier-sets-up-the-rout-of-poor-liverpool-1394350.html A certain MLT got a hat trick that night as well, but was still snubbed by England - fools...! -

And to think that they actually gave him the Freedom of the City as well...! Even after he had jumped ship - beggars belief. I bet there is somebody in a coucil office now with head in hands still wondering how that decission was passed...!

This is our magnificent legal sytem at work here - it is reverred around the world as one of the fairest systems in place. It takes hundreds of hours and costs millions of taxpayer pounds to administer - most of it going to politically correct lawyers and judges who are so out of touch with reality it is untrue. A 7.62mm round to the head costs about 13p and can be dispenced in about 0.13 seconds over a range of 10 yards. I know which system I prefer.

We could of course counter with '...at least we do not have a Doctor in charge'. Oh, but thinking about it - neither do they (actually), and it is looking less likely by the day that they might have too...!

Nice post Macca - tend to agree with most of it. I want Pompey to stay up as well, but in order to do that I think that they need to have a good start, a bit a la Hull City last season. Problem is though, if they don't get off to a flyer I think that confidence will go and heads will drop and it will be too easy for some to just blame it on the circumstances of the past few months. They really do have thier backs against the wall now - it's up to the players that are left to dig them out, adopt a seige mentality and show some real bottle. Whether that happens remains to be seen. Personally I think that the good Dr needs to get his act togeather - either buy them now or butt out. As your post points out, they do not look a good investment, even at a nominal £1.00 fee - but the Dr is effectively doing a 'Pinnacle' on them by dragging this takeover out. If he gets cold feet now PFC are going to find it very difficult to find a buyer in the present climate - as you so rightly point out, other clubs are a far more attractive proposition. 200 million to sort PFC our, or go north and knock off the Geordies at around 70 million - I know where I'd go. I feel for the Blue Few - I hope they get things sorted - but right now it looks pretty bleak.

Neither Rasiak nor Saga are going to be happy warming the bench for long periods in this league - so I think that at least one of them will go, possibly both. I would opt for Lambert and Saga (if he stays), if not I'd give Pato a go with a veiw to getting somebody in as well.
