  1. Players come, players go. They fit in at some clubs, they don't at others. Look at Kevin Davies at Bolton - we couldn't wait to offload him amongst rumours that he didn't train well and couldn't get fit, now he's being touted for England. But that is just life - no use worrying or moaning about it - wish them all the best and move on. No point worrying about spilt milk - look forward, no back.
  2. I see - so we are all once again labelled as 'happy clappy' and the obvious solution to our problems is to throw more and more money at it. Good stuff - let's do it. After all - the original 5 year plan is now 5 games in - we can see it's not working - there is no hope of salvaging anything over the course of the plan, so lets scrap it. Results have not happened - but from what I can gather from some of the less panicky posters here - performances have improved, especially over the last couple of games - so let's not assume anything just yet huh. 5 years equates to about 250 games - we are only 5 in and people are starting to make judgements - strange to say the least.
  3. You shouldn't. Proof of certification at the level you claim should have resulted in a 'proxy claim' (at least up to level 3 I think) negating the need for you to prove competence in those subjects again. That said, there is a limit of time (3 years I think) between you gaining your original grades and then registering them for proxy against relevant KS subjects.
  4. If there was a prize for mong post of the day, (in fact year even), this would win - hands down...!
  5. Probably not - but as with any plan - any possibilities must be factored in. Fact remains though the 'five year' plan has not got off to a great start granted, but there is an awful lot of that plan to execute. Correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to recall a certain Roy Keane making a very dodgy start at Sunderland - but I'm pretty sure that Niall Quinn is happy that he kept his nerve and stuck with his man. How much longer do you want to give AP - shall we sack him after another 5 games and start all over, yet again?
  6. Good to see that the usual suspects are once again showing thier true colours. It was always likely though, with the weight of -10 around our necks, a poor start was always going to make the 'less stable' start to waiver in thier support. I only hope that ML has more nerve than some of our fans appear to possess. I really don't think that we are only aiming for safety at all - it's just that currently, we are not 'hitting' where we are aiming - and we need tweaking. Once AP and his staff get that tweaking sorted - I'm sure results will follow. Correct me if I am wrong - at the beginning of this bright new era it was mooted that the current owner and management were working on a 5 year plan and not a 5 game plan?
  7. Because an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship is a Framework qualification, generally consisting of Key Skills, an NVQ, Employment Rights and Responsibilities and a Technical Certificate. Whilst NVQ's are often much mocked, they are not designed to prove academic proficiency - they are tailored by various Sector Skills Councils to prove competence at a certain level in the workplace - which generally speaking they do. As many of them are government funded schemes as well - employers generally will encourage thier staff to enrole on such qualifications. I have worked with people who boast various different Degree qualifications but who bought absolutely nothing to the table in terms of working experience and thier degree subjects helped them little.
  8. Damn - not available here in Germany...!!! Keep the info snippets coming please people...!!! Ta.
  9. Prawns were frozen and there were no batteries in the radio...!
  10. I come, I read, I decide what I think is bollix, and consign it to the 'bin'. I think that if I learnt anything over the course of the mamouth recent 'takeover' thread, posters on here are anything but ITK. Some like to think that they are, and rightly or wrongly, some appear to deliberately posture such a stance to give themselves some sort of creedance. Either way - to the poster, put your head above the parapit and expect some flak, to the reader, when you throw the flak, do so with some substance of your own and a degree of courtesy.
  11. It would appear that sinister things are happening just down the road too, beggars belief that kids can do this to each other, hope the lad is ok: http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/Boy-Hung-By-Noose-From-Tree-In-A-Portsmouth-Park---Bradley-McLachlan-7-Was-Rescued/Article/200908415367604?lpos=UK_News_Carousel_Region_2&lid=ARTICLE_15367604_Boy_Hung_By_Noose_From_Tree_In_A_Portsmouth_Park_-_Bradley_McLachlan%2C_7%2C_Was_Rescued
  12. I saw this too - SMS Head of Catering immediately sprang to mind.., or am I wildly off track here...! ~ ??
  13. Not much of a selling point to be honest. Support Pompey you are the best fans in the world, support Burnley you are the best fans in the world, support Chester City you are the best fans in the world, support Saints you are the best fans in the world, and so on and so on. Get it. Investors probably don't give two hoots about the best fans at the end of the day - it's the marketability, and ability to get a return on thier investment. Very few Romans about who are willing to take a mighty hit in order to play with his train set - you have to be viable, stable and producing revenue. Are you?
  14. I think it's fair to say that he is very very unlikely to be solely responsible for events, he may well be a 'patsy' for those who remain uncaught and unconvicted. If he played any part in what transpired that day though, he deserves to be repatriated in a box. If innocent - well - that's another thing entirely.
  15. Exactly - he was, we we not..!
  16. Funny, funny thread - love it. Couldn't make Swindon or Huddersfield, absolutely no passion about the team - time to mag to grid and get someone new in eh...!
  17. Tis a bit bad when a guy, who could've been earning big bucks warming the bench at a Prem Club, appears to be our most motivated, consisitent and professional performer.
  18. Sorry, so are you saying that from the very outset you never supported the Pinnacle bid?
  19. Everybody here seems to think that a couple of CB's will be the answer to our problems - but from what I heard tonight, they wiped the floor with us in midfield, we never created a chance and never scored a goal. Gonna need to be some CB to sort that little lot out. Well played KD, again.
  20. There's a queue - wait your turn eh...!
  21. We have a set peice - they could score here...!
  22. Sounds like we are being hassled off it all over the park...
  23. Remind me - are we any good at set pieces...???
  24. FWIW I agree with all of the OP's points - and I think that the pies at SMS need more salt in them as well, it's about time that these things were sorted - the new regime has been in for 2 games now.
