  1. It would appear that sinister things are happening just down the road too, beggars belief that kids can do this to each other, hope the lad is ok: http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/Boy-Hung-By-Noose-From-Tree-In-A-Portsmouth-Park---Bradley-McLachlan-7-Was-Rescued/Article/200908415367604?lpos=UK_News_Carousel_Region_2&lid=ARTICLE_15367604_Boy_Hung_By_Noose_From_Tree_In_A_Portsmouth_Park_-_Bradley_McLachlan%2C_7%2C_Was_Rescued
  2. I saw this too - SMS Head of Catering immediately sprang to mind.., or am I wildly off track here...! ~ ??
  3. Not much of a selling point to be honest. Support Pompey you are the best fans in the world, support Burnley you are the best fans in the world, support Chester City you are the best fans in the world, support Saints you are the best fans in the world, and so on and so on. Get it. Investors probably don't give two hoots about the best fans at the end of the day - it's the marketability, and ability to get a return on thier investment. Very few Romans about who are willing to take a mighty hit in order to play with his train set - you have to be viable, stable and producing revenue. Are you?
  4. I think it's fair to say that he is very very unlikely to be solely responsible for events, he may well be a 'patsy' for those who remain uncaught and unconvicted. If he played any part in what transpired that day though, he deserves to be repatriated in a box. If innocent - well - that's another thing entirely.
  5. Exactly - he was, we we not..!
  6. Funny, funny thread - love it. Couldn't make Swindon or Huddersfield, absolutely no passion about the team - time to mag to grid and get someone new in eh...!
  7. Tis a bit bad when a guy, who could've been earning big bucks warming the bench at a Prem Club, appears to be our most motivated, consisitent and professional performer.
  8. Sorry, so are you saying that from the very outset you never supported the Pinnacle bid?
  9. Everybody here seems to think that a couple of CB's will be the answer to our problems - but from what I heard tonight, they wiped the floor with us in midfield, we never created a chance and never scored a goal. Gonna need to be some CB to sort that little lot out. Well played KD, again.
  10. There's a queue - wait your turn eh...!
  11. We have a set peice - they could score here...!
  12. Sounds like we are being hassled off it all over the park...
  13. Remind me - are we any good at set pieces...???
  14. FWIW I agree with all of the OP's points - and I think that the pies at SMS need more salt in them as well, it's about time that these things were sorted - the new regime has been in for 2 games now.

Save yourself time and effort and call him 'Hearbouy'....
  16. I believe you are correct in general terms with what you say. TL and MLT acted (I believe) in good faith - thier intentions were good, but I don't think that they knew the money mans real intent. Hence they went with the flow. If we are to believe the current story - it would appear that Pinnacles (not necessarily TL) intent was to try to buy the club and then offload it at the earliest opportunity for a profit. Even that in itself is no crime - it could have proved a god send had Mr Liebherr not been waiting in the wings. Unfortunately - like most football fans - we Saints have very *short/selective memories, and at the time most were clamboring for Pinnacle to do the deal, buy the club and install MLT as Chairman. Most here would have been very happy had that happened - because the other option was LifeLongSaint *and/or oblivion. As history now shows - Pinnacle appeared not to have the wealth that they first purported to, Mr Fry opened the door to others and (luckily for us) Mr Liebherr bought the club. Ok - so the Pinnacle thing severly hampered our pre-season preparation, that said - we could lost the club altogeather. So I agree - that TL's intentions were probably honourable, but unfortunately he didn't have the backer behind him and couldn't see that. At the end of the day - it all worked out pretty well for us - so I for one, have little complaint.
  17. Right - best get him back on the wing again then eh...! 1 in 5 is hardly proven, and right now if we could get somebody who could weigh in with goals from midfield it would be a bonus. Decent player - but to my mind - tends only to 'turn up' when the Sky cameras do!
  18. He may well of said that - but did he say that he was going to get them...?? Big difference.
  19. Errr you must be new here - we are the Saints Web Forum - we want it and we want it now - no 'ifs', 'buts' or 'excuses' - got it, not in one games time, or two - now, instant success or your out...! Welcome to the real world...!
  20. Judging from the comments of fans that are at the match - things can only get better...!
  21. Apologies - you are of course correct - you have not imposed your agenda on half of the threads here. However - my point remains extant, as many of those that you have chosen to comment on, you have (in my opinion) done so to further your own agenda points, whilst adding nothing of worth to the thread. My point again. If you want to be controversial - then by all means do so. But have the balls to post your controversial views yourself, and not twist other peoples views to air your own.
  22. You really are getting more than a little tedious now, it appears that you wish to hi-jack every other thread in order to address issues on your own agenda. The originator started the thread in order to alert us to Matts prediction on Sportingbet - no more, no less. Had he wished to discuss how Matt was somehow responsible for us missing out on the play offs, then he would have started that thread. He didn't - perhaps you might, eh?
  23. Quite. Personally I hope that you recover from you problems - I really do. But the biggest problem that I think you will have is servicing your current running costs. Even with all of the debt wiped away and everything zeroed - I can't see you getting enough through the turnstiles to run as a going concern. Ergo - you need to downsize on your wagebill. Whether you can do that and still remain competitive in the Premier League remains to be seen - but 100 million pounds is not enough to bank roll a club for any considerable amount of time. Will be interesting to see what happens post (and let's face it, he looks history) the Doctor, but failing attracting a 'sugar daddy', you then need to attract a fairly rich investor(s), and to do that you need to be an 'attractive investment proposition', which unfortunately - I don't believe you are right now. That said - good luck.
  24. I remember the days when a bloody greate crane in an urban area was seen soley as a bloody eyesore - for me now though - the bigger the crane, the bigger our next signing...! Happy days.
  25. I know better ways to blow my bonus than buy a ramshackle club teetering on the edge... there are a lot better 'investment' opportunities out there thats for sure. Lets be honest as well - in the world into which he is stepping, how for is his 100 mil going to go - pay off some debt, fund a few players, and then what...?
