Have just registered. I see that you managed to get yourself banned after just one thread and two posts..!!! Must be an all time record. Reading it though - the Blue Few are far from happy it would appear - anarchy reigns. I'm not sure it would be wise to post anything under my user name of St Micky - looks like they just ban Saints fans on the spot, whether coming in peace or not.
-
Errrr...?
-
As I predicted a 2 nil win. Not too worried about how the goals come at the moment so long as we win. Clean sheet as well - all positives really.
-
Time for a Lambert hat trick yet though....
-
No, really, I would never have guessed. This is the most slurred post I have ever seen here..!

It's called freedom of speech - this is an internet forum, potentially open to every internet connected person on the globe. NC is entitled to his opinions, they may not all be mainstream and he often finds himself in the minority. That said, I personally think that he makes some valid points and tries (in the main) to contribute. It may not be what you want to hear, it may differ vastly from your own opinion - but sometimes that is just life. As for banning him - I vote not. Like a TV set, you have the option to change the channel or use the 'on/off' button if it is not to your taste. Here you might consider the 'ignore' option.

I don't think they said that they had a punt actually, but then again like you, my hearings not too good....!
-
I agree. Would also like to know where this 1 million pounds is coming from? I take it that we have no operating budget now and can just snap up players for silly money. Damn easy to spend other peoples money - my, life is grand now!
-
Actually it's worse than that - he got hold of a copy of LLS brilliant 'Blueprint for Success' - can't go wrong with that, Beckham, Bridges and all sorts on it...!
-
You summed it up there NC, you are guessing, assuming, sticking a finger in the air, whilst all the time allowing a guess to form your opinion and pass judgment. Does anybody know the facts?
-
Met him once and he was an absolute gentleman - took time to chat to me and my two boys. Got to agree with FTF, he gave us everlasting great memories and built a side that played some great stuff.
-
You may well be right actually. Whatever, perhaps I was just feeling a little homesick whilst in my Germany hotel room, and it was nice to see a friendly German name plastered all over the TV...!
-
Decent stuff - nice read - only read the Charlton bit but I'll venture back for more later.
-
Big game, all round confidence could take a massive dive if we lose this one (won't do a lot for confidence if we only manage a draw either) - that said, Saints to win 2 - 0.
-
Would appear that the Leibherr name is associated with other sports as well. I am currently in Germany and was watching German Eurosport last night, looks like they are the main sponsor for the world championships as well: Hopfully when Saints are competing for the world team championships as well, the Liebherr name will adorn many an advertising hoarding..!
-
Yeah ok ok, never mind all that, all we want to know is did he do the dance FFS...!

I believe that TDD is probably referring to me..! Here: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=449691&postcount=63 Although the context of our disagreement was about parity in terms of current results and relative Leagues and League positions. I said that we are on par with Yeovil Town - I maintain my stance. TDD is quite welcome to come back over to that thread and put his case there - I would love to take up from where he left. Oh and for the record although I currently see us as no better than Yeovil Town, I still fully expect us to win - 2 nil.
-
Yes I do - because I do not think that we will get promoted this season, I see us finishing mid table(ish). So either way, we will not be too far away from Yeovil come the end, (although I believe we will be above them). But it does not alter the fact that at this moment in time - we are on par with them in regards to our league status. You might argue the fact that we should (or have) much bigger ambitions than them, and I would agree with you. But none of those ambitions have been realised, and until they are nothing will change. My mentality does not come into it, reality of the situation does - check out the league table and it will give you all the reality you need right now.
-
It's not holding us back, it is the reality of the situation - it is where we are today. Accept it and use it to spur you on to greater things, but don't think that just because we used to be a big team we still are, you are decieving nobody but yourself. Dream of what used to be - or accept the situation, work hard, respect your competition and start to get back to the top. Nothing wrong with that mentality as far as I can see.

Can't cook to save my life - but the guy has entertained me for hours with his programs and unique presentation. Sad day - he's probably now frequenting that great big kitchen in the sky and sampling a fine wine... peach Keith.

In terms of results and league status Yeovil Town are on par with us - if you check, you'll actually find that they are better off than us. If you want to measure parity by ground capacity, how many fans turn up and how much money the owner has - then we are streets ahead. But guess what - non of those things gets you any points. Yep, we spent 1 million pounds on Ricky Lambert - Yeovil will probably never be able to afford such luxury - but currently their league status is better than ours, so they probably don't care. At the end of the season, we can have a nice shiny stadium, billionairre owner, superstars galore - but if we don't have the points on the board it will mean nothing. We are on par with lots of little teams - it may hurt, but get used to it.
-
I think you'll find it's been covered on the 'Burley will be sacked today' thread John..!
-
Actually not a bad game plan. That said though, it will be interesting to see what: A. The fans do and B. The players do if we go behind. And if we go behind by more than 1 goal - that will be very interesting.
-
If he does get sacked anytime soon, George might see fit to apply for the DofF role here at SMS.
-
The thread is only 4 posts long and you can probably see the reasons as to a lot of our problems. We think we are good. When will people start to realise that we are no better than a lot of teams in this league - if we were then we wouldn't be here. We are on par with most of the teams in this league - that includes Yeovil Town, get used to it. Believing that they are turning up to make up the numbers is about as foolish as any professional sportsperson can get. Once we regularly start to win football matches, and achieve promotion twice thus regaining a place in the top league - then I might believe that we are good. Until, I will aford our competitors the respect they deserve.
