Not good that 'the plan' revolves around a single player, and there is no plan B - bad tactics from the manager. I agree with everything you say, but I think it puts an awful lot of pressure on the player, fans thinking that as soon as he gets back in the side all our woes are over. Stewart Armstrong is a good player, one of our best players, but not sure he will turn our to be the messiah and turn our season around single-handedly.
-
Pelle's finishing was light years ahead of what we are now relying on, Stoke, Liverpool, QPR goals spring immediately to mind but there were many more where he scored exceptional goals. Unfortunately Adams and Armstrong are not even on the same planet and will never score the same quantity or quality of goals, which ultimately will probably lead to our downfall. I'm not saying I want him back now, but in his pomp here, he was different class.

Indeed, so will I. Happy but very bloody surprised as well....!
-
There isn't a foul in there. Suck it up - we got done, at home, again.
-
That in itself is very, very scary. Tony Adams, thanks but no thanks.
-
Why wait, next 3 are Chelsea, Leeds and Burnley. We ain't getting anything from those playing the way we do.
-
Let's just get one thing straight from the off. Absolutely nobody wants to suck Ralph...!
-
Lampard would require money to buy, Howe would coach. Both would probably look for better options than us.
-
Are these the only positives you can offer....?! We may be better than Burnley but you can bet your bottom dollar they will bully us out of the points in a relegation battle.
-
Championship strikers will only bring championship results. Roll on next season when we might at least score.
-
Enlighten us?

Terrible lack of quality from front to back. If there is no marked improvement in the second half, it becomes a must not lose game. Not good at all.
-
Would agree to a point, given the teams we've played, but the current table, early though it is, says otherwise.
-
Even when they ain't playing for us they're messing up, need Burnley to lose, the early relegation fight is on. First must win 6 pointer coming up tomorrow.
-
Nothing less than 3 points for me. Need to get a win on the board quickly now, not just for the points, but confidence as well. After the way we imploded last season I worry that we won't show a lot of fight if things do start to go wrong. If we can get points from City and Utd, we've got to get our first win against Wolves.

Here endeth the cup run....!
-
Can't catch, and yet she can legitimately use the title International goalkeeper...!
-
Don't worry, we'll go back above them when we beat City tomorrow.
-
Reckon toon will nick it, maxima brace.
-
Bamford finishing like Shane Long.

Notwithstanding covid and the reasons associated with it I think the bottom line is simply if the product is worth watching, people would pay to watch it. Given the complete car crash 2nd half of last season, not won a game this season, people are voting with their feet. Can't remember who it was attributed to but the old adage 'get it right on the pitch and the rest will look after itself' rings true. Start to show some form, win some matches and the full houses will come.

Free hit, go, compete, keep the score down, move on. We don't go down because we lose to the likes of City. Will be very interesting to see what Ralf does if City do start to rack them up.
-
Sky pundits seems to think we are on the way down, not impressed with our transfer window. To much quality out, not enough in. Not to sure myself, but it will be interesting to see how we go when the going gets tough, last season we downed tools a few times. Need to get in front today and stay there.

Safe standing: Saints’ big chance to create an ‘end’
Micky replied to Daft Kerplunk's topic in The Saints
The fact that we've just installed 'comfy seats' and relocated long time ST holders may be a bit of a clue about where our marketing people see any proposals about standing. -
What defending?
