I could do with subtitles when Paul Jewell`s on.

"Nine points adrift at the foot of League One. two points from four games, yet still the Southampton faithful turn up in droves - 19,169 saw the 1-1 draw with Brentford, more than at five Championship grounds this weekend." So says the Daily Mail in a snippet near the foot of page 74 of today`s edition. Last week there was a snippet about the choice of pies at SMS. But no mention of the games themselves. Seems to me that attention in the press and perhaps among the fans has turned from the high expectations of success on the pitch to just getting on with enjoying being there. I`ll settle for that for now.

I`m just thankful it`s not Dennis Wise and his Armani suit.

Me too, I`m afraid. Something still doesn`t seem quite right about Pinnacle and the Swiss option may appear to be the most `solid.` As for MLT, I hope for his sake that he isn`t let down, embarrassed or used in any way and that things turn out well for him, never mind anyone else. Whatever happens, of course, his status will be unaffected in the eyes of supporters. I`ll still only believe the Pinnacle takeover when I see it and if it does happen, then I may still remain sceptical about the future.

I think BWP and Warnock deserve each other. They`re both twonks.

Can`t see it happening in a hurry myself, to be fair.

The media vs Nick Illingsworth & Richard Chorley

He`s wrong. We NEED Phil Scolari. Who we`ll get is quite different. -
Not really a fall from grace as such, to be fair, but I see that Alan Blayney has signed a three year deal with Linfield. Good luck to him - his stunning save from Shearer still lives in the memory.

Thanks for the update, Duncan. I always thought that one of the prime responsibilities that referees have is the safety and wellbeing of the players. Jones`s action in scampering off to the changing rooms, having left the field of play with a player clearly badly injured, was nothing short of an abdication of that basic responsibility. I agree nothing is likely to happen if `just` the fans complain, but I hope the club are taking the matter up themselves.

Just to be fair, I think we should recognise Rupert`s contribution to the club by naming the Gents toilet in the Itchen concourse after him - it would certainly encourage me to `go` more often.

Quite right, Sir. She realised it couldn`t possibly ever get better than that day. I sat next to Alan Pascoe (the runner) who confessed to being a P****y fan.

I feel that tomorrow will be more of a tribal gathering than attending a football match at SMS. I just hope it doesn`t end up being a wake.

They didn`t say which Tuesday.

The OS and the Echo seem reluctant to report the Reserves 5-0 loss against Charlton yesterday. So for those who might be inerested, please see http://www.cafc.co.uk/newsview.ink?nid=34079&newstype=m

The daftest, most self-centred and most myopic rescue proposal yet..

What have we got Toulouse? After all, we need the Monet. -
If I go it will be because I am tempted by the prospect of taking part in any verbal abuse aimed at Rupert. I could do with a good boo.

Did you see the PM I sent you, Phil? -
I wonder if it might be that Leon wants to know how his `initiative` might be viewed before he acts. Testing the waters, perhaps. If so, he seems to have had a generally positive response from most posters on this forum. I hope he`s getting the message he needs to hear. Just guessing, of course.
-
Sounds good to me. I`ve got some time for Leon - Pearson, Ted`s statue and all that and I think we would have been better off this season with him and Pearson at the helm. We all know what happened but if it`s the case that Leon has the resources at his disposal to oust Lowe and bring in experienced Championship management then good, especially as there seems little prospect of alternative investment. I have no idea how feasible this suggestion might be - we might need a little more convincing - but if it saves us from administration, gets rid of Lowe, gives us a clean sheet to start again with, then maybe there is some hope for rescueing not just this season but also our club.
-
Lowe off skiing? No wonder we`re going downhill fast.

Looks as if the Echo have finally decided to support the majority of their readers, who want rid of Lowe, rather than the Lowe regime at SMS. About time too.
