  1. Where are we in the table? Jesus
  2. Very confident before the start of the season but having watched Liverpool and ourselves play a couple of times now I don't think we're near their level. 2-0 to the scousers.
  3. My comment on Osvaldo?
  4. Great second half Wanyama showed flashes of what he was capable of but needs to up his game, I'd like to see Cork in home games playing it on the floor and Wanyama as a battering ram/ defensive option in away tests. Osvaldo is a phenomenal talent, by far the best player on the pitch today and I have a sneaking suspicion he will score a hatful in this league. Morgan was very poor, Jrod looked good but his first touch and positional sense let him down and Lambert looked a bit off the pace. Clyne had a solid if unspectacular return and Lovren/ Fonte were typically assured.
  5. http://www.givemesport.com/380380-manchester-united-set-sights-on-12m-southampton-starlet?autoplay=on I smell smoke
  6. If it was, the thing to not is a price was quoted, Mourinho wasn't told that the player wasn't for sale he just felt the price was too high. I don't imagine we'd name a price for Shaw but would rather consider any offers received as we are not actively looking to sell.
  7. To be fair, "then I believe one day we will be also there" is so far removed from the headline of Victor Wanyama: Southampton player targets Champions League! it's unreal Journalists are amazing.
  8. The tribe has spoken.
  9. The university I attended in South Africa has a similar story, they had a large number of Jewish students and were called the "ikey's" in a derogatory sense. To defuse this, the name was adopted as a badge of pride instead by the university and its teams. They still play under the moniker proudly and there has been no complaint from the Jewish community as they understand that, far from being an insult, it is in fact a symbol of the Jewish students refusing to be ashamed of who they were and being proud of their culture and history. We don't sing about Auschwitz though to be fair...
  10. In the u18's we're tied on points with Arsenal and West-Ham, probably the two other most famed academies in the Southern Group and it is early days so I'm not too concerned there. The u21's on the other hand are second from bottom of the log with the second worst goal difference but we've only lost to Chelsea, Reading and Sunderland so far who are all in the top 10 (with Sunderland topping the table) and we beat Liverpool away who were exceptional last year. I have faith in the coaching staff, it'll all come right in the end.
  11. Mandaric should just keep quiet on the whole issue then. If Billy has (as ART suggests) stated categorically that he will not play for Wednesday then why is Milan targeting us?
  12. For the sake of clarity, the original telegraph article http://www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk/sport/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-owls-still-in-the-hunt-for-leroy-and-billy-as-loan-window-opens-1-6037785
  13. Love that swear filter... "The Premier League Saints are understood to want a club to match Sharp's reported £18,000 per week wages for any loan deal to go ahead. But Mandaric told the Sheffield Telegraph he hoped the situation could be resolved. He said: "That is steep for Championship budgets where the maximum salary is probably around £10,000 a week. "You can't criticise the club because that is their prerogative. "But what I don't understand is the player just sitting there and not playing. "Why not a sensible situation? Why not put him on the stage to move on. "Why would you keep a player if he doesn't have a chance to be part of the squad? "I think it's not good business and not good for the player. "But, as I've said, he's their player and it's their prerogative." Sharp has also been linked with loan moves to Championship clubs Reading, Leeds United, Ipswich Town and Doncaster Rovers after being left out of Southampton's pre-season preparations and not featuring in any of their games so far this season." In summary, "you can't criticise Saints" followed by criticism.
  14. Mandaric mouthing off about us. http://www.thisiss****horpe.co.uk/story-19787076-detail/story.html?#axzz2ehPWbNTT
  15. I think they're only being scrapped next season but they are only available to members of the Football League and not the Prem, the specific emergency loan rules for keepers may be different though?
  16. Hmmmm, it's not bad but I am forever loathe to drop Rickie, after all how many other clubs realistically say "oh, let's drop our player because he's now an international for our shiny new toy?" I imagine Rickie would be rightly aggrieved to not be started unless he himself claims to be tired.
  17. http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/europa/southampton-gazzaniga-puo-tornare-al-gillingham-in-prestito-483532? As it says on the box, potential loan move.
  18. Every one judging us on this is making a basic maths error; look at the possession stats, they have the ball less so of course have played fewer long passes than us. Weighting their long pass figure by possession takes them up to a total of 180 long passes, but they are also more wasteful than us... Our pass completion is 80.3% meaning that we have wasted 44 long passes in total on average, West-Ham would have wasted 50 based on those statistics on a fewer number of passes. The data shows that West-Ham's long balls are far more "hoof and hope" than ours though I don't deny that we are playing many more long balls now than previously.
  19. England Ukraine when talking about our England products, you're not going mad
  20. The scores vary wildly for me depending on the test, they're by no means very accurate in my experience as if they were I should be hitting the same bracket every time.
  21. I can't keep up, I thought we liked Yoshida? I certainly was always impressed with him.
  22. He's only 29, I can't believe this is his 5th season with us and he's been here that long. He's made 140 appearances for us
  23. You have got to be kidding? Fuller, John, Oakley, Fernandes, Lundekvam all took more stick than Fonte despite putting in great shifts and that's only in the last 7-8 years.
  24. You made a star-trek reference? Bearsy you geeky sod you That was quite brilliant, a massive improvement on your Norwich one which was a bit below par by your standards, keep 'em coming Bear.
