Saints duo win awards - Koeman MOTM - Pellè POTM
Saint_Tony replied to angelman's topic in The Saints
Congratulations, both awards well deserved. Pelle red card tomorrow? -
I was in the West Ham end last year and it was around £55. Rip off. Anyways, football is overpriced just like everything else is these days so quite pointless making a big deal about it
-
Think we will get 7 points from the next 4 league games, sitting comfortably on 20 points before a tough december and january
-
He does himself no favours at all, best to keep quiet. His arrogance is typical of an England player. He's digging himself a deeper hole and if anything, gone even lower in my opinion. He's just like your average Liverpool fan, holding onto former glory of the 80s, and the fact they were the luckiest team to ever win it. They've had their time.I would ****ing love it if we were to qualify for the Champions League in the next few years. As Morgan said it would be a 'bomb' in English football and upset the applecart. Anyways, l'm happy with our squad, we're better off without egos. I'm also happy for Adam to achieve his dream of getting a pasting from Real Madrid on another 'magical european night at anfield'. You may never walk alone, but you will always be a c***

Morgan Schneiderlin comments in 'France Football' magazine
Saint_Tony replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
On the very, very slight off chance of us qualifying for the CL, would he stick around for another season just to complete the journey? Anyways, when he inevitably leaves hopefully it won't be to the likes of Arsenal or Spurs, he's genuinely even above their level -
Same team, no need to change just because we've lost one game to a better team.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, time and time again we come unstuck against these sorts of teams. They are all beatable, but are all capable of doing the same to is. 7 points would be a reasonable return, 6 should be the minimum expectation.
-
No big deal, we were never going to win this and we are still in a decent position. 4 points from the next 2 games should keep us in the top 6. Just annoying that theres another international break. Poor miss from Mane, but he's a player who will frustrate and excite in equal measures
-
Well I've correct predicted today that we would lose, whilst many others expected something from the game.
-
Hull City Stoke City
-
Chelsea Man City Man Utd Spurs Arsenal Liverpool Everton Swansea
-
We have a good side, but I'm happy to accept that there are 8 or 9 better teams and that we are rarely going to pick up points in games like this
-
Just not going to be our day, we won't score.
-
No, just realistic. We aren't going to keep up our winning run and are due a defeat and a poor performance. I'm confident we can finish top half, but once again we are showing an inability to take points off of a bigger side
-
Was pretty obvious we'd lose, just a case of keeping the score down now.
-
Oh, just forum rumours as usual. Spurs don't look anything special on paper
-
Now we're about to find out why we won't be able to challenge for a top 6/7 spot. Oh well, nice easy money on a Spurs win I guess.
-
What does everyone expect him to say? 'Southampton are ubeaten except for the defeat at Liverpool where they deserved something from the game. They are genuine top 6 contenders based on recent form, and I'd expect them to brush aside a Spurs side without a league win since August 24th. Pelle has been in fine form for Saints, whilst Spurs are still lacking a regular goalscorer. Spurs 1-2 Saints'. We have no chance of winning sadly, due to the nature of football results. We are due a defeat and I will be having a nice lump on Spurs at 6/5.
-
They are poor. If we lose to them, we will finish 9th at best.
-
This is the biggest game of the season so far. If we can get a win then it sends out a message that we are serious top 6/7 contenders, plus a big message to MP about our ambition. A win would be too good to be true though. Spurs 2 Saints 1
-
Here's some analysis. Koeman is a brilliant manager and a top bloke. Pochettino is a ****
-
I ****ing hate these international breaks! Was better being in league 1.We've seen already this season how difficult it is to predict games. It's the next 3 fixtures that, for me, will determine whether we will have any chance of improving on last season's position and gaining european qualification. 3 fixtures we got 2 points from last season. 5 points would he the minimum requirement to stay in contention. We're more than capable of it, but football doesn't always work like that
-
Should we have sacked Pochettino any way?
Saint_Tony replied to Red And White Barmy Army's topic in The Saints
It was difficult to warm to him, and it always seemed clear he wasn't planning on sticking around for long. However, that probably doesn't warrant being sacked. It's all irrelevant anyway, really can't see him lasting at Spurs. He's not getting results in the league whilst continuing to disrespect all other competitions. A win on Sunday up there would be a massive, massive result in so many ways. -
Not getting carried away but looking at recent results and watching the two derby games today, are the top 6 that far ahead of us? For me, Chelsea will walk the league with Man City in 2nd. But are the likes of Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal that much better than us?
