  1. Soldado? Absolutely no chance, laughable to even suggest he would ever join us
  2. Good luck to him, a top professional. Not the most gifted but guaranteed to put in a shift, certainly more suited to thar league. We definitely had a bit of a wobble after he got injured in the Bristol City game back in the Championship
  3. We have no chance whatsoever of signing Soldado. Spanish international, proven goalscorer at all levels. Damiao is somewhat optimistic but to suggest we have a chance of getting this guy is laughable
  4. It is getting worrying. I admire the ambition of Cortese and the club to try and target players like Damiao, but we're simply not at that level yet to compete with the likes of Napoli or any other Champions League side. Having said that, none of us really know what's going on behind the scenes, we have to assume there are other targets in mind who might not have even been mentioned on this forum. What's more concerning in my opinion, is the fact the other two heavily linked players, Banega and Wanyama, are both central midfielders. Are we wasting time going for players to add to what is arguably the strongest area of the team? Not fussed about Wanyama but Banega would be an incredible signing and we might have a chance of pulling it off. In serious need of another right back, a wide player and a striker though
  5. It is very harsh indeed, if I recall correctly he came of the bench in the opener against City? Should have at least been given a chance but that's the way football is these days, the club is evolving at rapid pace, even Jonno quick can't keep up
  6. It's a much better spread of fixtures than last season, first 7 games are all very winnable. Could be vital in setting us up for the rest of the season to avoid the panic of last season Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  7. Altidore was terrible at Hull, nowhere near good enough Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  8. It's an awkward one. Many have defended Gaston. Whilst he's yet to set the world alight and justify the transfer fee, it's obvious the talent is there. When he's got the ball at his feet there's no one better at the club, and as a result the fans are expecting more in terms of pass completion, goals and assists. I fully believe he will deliver the goods next season, although wouldn't be too downhearted if he leaves. Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  9. Why the need for the constant comparisons to West Ham? They're a completely different club to us, with (rightly or wrongly) a completely different style of play and strategy regarding signing players. They have done better than us over the course of 38 games, but let's worry about our own team moving forward, we are looking to bring in quality additions, not paying 17 millions for Andy Carroll Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  10. What was the real result, this is not a time for jokes, we all know Wigan were guaranteed to win Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  11. It's a natural reaction to be worried right now, I am for the first time in weeks. A Swansea win would put a stop to that. After beating Liverpool and Chelsea many people thought we were going to continue that good run of form but it never happened, it never was going to, it wasn't realistic. Yet now we have lost 2 games in a row it's suddenly nailed on that this run of defeats will continue. I'm predicting that run won't realistically continue, it might only be a point or two, but it will be enough Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  12. It's all well and good so many people coming on here saying how dire Stoke and Sunderland are, but the table suggests we are no better than them. Both will be very tough games Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  13. It will go to the last day, but too many on here are basing everything on the assumption we will lose both our games. If we lose to Sunderland and Stoke then there's no point us being in this league. I can see Wigan escaping, Norwich could be in the most trouble though Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  14. To think we were laughing at those who had bet us to get relegated, wish I'd have got a bet down earlier Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  15. With our impending relegation, who should we look to get in next season from the Champiokship? Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  16. It's quite significant that on most online bookmakers we are not even quoted, so you'd have to email them for a price. Even so, theres nothing wrong with having a tenner on, at least if it did happen, (highly unlikely), you get something out of it. Best to cover yourself at such big odds Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  17. Should we not be looking at beating Sunderland? IMO they are a very poor team with a lot of average players, I'd be embarassed if we don't get a result against them Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  18. Well we must be safe, I'll explain why. After our heavy 3-0 defeat we were reliably informed on here that it was not a bad day at the office, but the start of a downward spiral. Sunderland are on 2 points less and currently taking absolute battering from fellow strugglers Aston Villa. They have had a couple of good results recently but form shouldn't come into it. If we apply the same logic, this is not a bad day at the office or a one off, they are clearly on a downward spiral towards relegation and it will be nearly impossible for them to pick up any more points. Add in the fact the mighty Wigan are highly likely to win all of their remaining games, this will relegate Sunderland, with us finishing 17th. Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  19. Mathematically we are not safe, but the odds on our relegation suggest we are. I think we will only get one point from the last 3 but that should be enough. It might be a disappointing and nervy ending to the season but considering our start, survival in any way is a success IMO. In a way I suppose it makes it a bit more interesting now, after we thought we were home and dry a couple of weeks ago! Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  20. Surely Spurs' equaliser is irrelevant as we're going down anyway? Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  21. There's a chance he might be able to help them out with penalties;) Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  22. Can't see us getting a result at Reading, think it'll still go to the last day. Still, assuming QPR and Reading are gone, we'd have to have a worse run of results than 6 other teams to go down now, difficult to see that happening, and the odds reflect that. Got a decent wager on Reading on Saturday though, 9/4 is a big price Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  23. Samba once again showing his world class ability, shrewd bit of business by 'Arry Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  24. Did Liverpool not put out their strongest side against us, apart from the goalkeeper? But then that also means Chelsea played against a 'weak' Saints team for 45 minutes Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  25. Can't see us winning this, would be happy enough with a point as we only need to average a point a game to be safe. Some on here seem rather confident, we've had poor away results recently at Newcastle and Norwich. 2-1 Reading I'm afraid Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
