  1. The higlights flatter us, we were poor. Wesr Ham showed nothing but we struggled to break them down, as I expected. Thought Wanyama was very poor, gave the ball away constantly
  2. Fonte has done nothing wrong, of course he should keep his place. Yoshida really isn't any better, it just seems the it's cool to rate him as a top player, similarly to Lee, when he really isn't. Makes far more key mistakes in games
  3. Maybe MP is trying to recreate our highly succesful total football experiment. Seriously though, Clyne simply has to start, I don't think Chambers, or JWP are ready just yet for starting places
  4. The thing is we were so poor last night, even if Rooney or Sturridge had played instead I feel they would have had a minimal impact. Lambert showed some poor touches, and faded in the 2nd half, but none of the other players were any better. Gerrard and Lampard were constantly sitting deep about two yards apart and offered very little. So many misplaced simple passes. Interesting on the commentary Lambert was showing a poor touch, yet when a Lampard did the same it was a case of 'just needed a bit more on it'.Whilst I appreciate their efforts and commitment to their country, they should both retire like Terry did.At this moment in time, I see no reason why Rickie shouldn't be on the plane to Brazil as fifth striker. Of course that could change, but I'm more concerned about him scoring for Saints than being part of another shambolic World Cup next year.
  5. Was tough for Lambert as I expected. Still, he's had his chance now that many of us thought would never happen. It's been a great story for sport im general, and I'm sure Rickie will look back on it with fond memories when his career ends, if indeed that was his last cap. I can still see him featuring again personally. If not, it's been a great experience for him. What was more concerning was how poor the likes of Walcott were tonight. Surely the first thing a footballer learns is how to play a two yard pass to a team mate? Shocking
  6. Might be difficult for Rickie tonight, he isn't going to get a lot of chances looking at England's line up. Would love it if he scored again though
  7. It was another class performance, he has stepped up to the plate again and will be relishing the chance against a better quality side. Quite clearly he is not a solution to England'd long term future, but he offers a different option and right now must surely be considered as an candidate for Brazil next year. Sure, he's nowhere near world class, but his desire and work rate is exactly what many of England's other players have been lacking all these years. The man is simply a legend
  8. Wasn't there an article somewhere about how we should sign Kiyotake? Could just be a rumour made up as a result. Can't say I know anything about him
  9. Came on here to see if there were any new transfer rumours. Surprise surprise, same old 'why didn't we sign everyone the day the window opened' nonsense. Seriously, grow up. Sealing a deal early just isn't that simple. Anyways, any new rumours? Hoping for one wide player at least, Lennon would be ideal
  10. It's just the way it is, I am as guilty as the next person of kned jerk reactions to a poor performance, but the amount of new threads yesterday regarding MP/Wanyama/poor transfer window/Ramirez was on a whole new level, even for this forum
  11. Ramirez has been given enough chances, he's been here a year. It's just not happened for him. We can't keep moaning to bring him on as he will supposedly start pulling the strings, or moaning that no one is on his wavelength, he's simply not been good enough
  12. We've unbeaten in 2, unlikely that's going to last for a third game seeing that we're a midtable side. I'd be happy enough with a point
  13. Think we're due a defeat sadly, 3-2 Norwich.
  14. Got a feeling Lambert might start on the bench in place of Osvaldo. Maybe a start for Ramirez? It's a definite selection dilemma for MP but at least it shows we have strong attacking options now
  15. Fine, but you can almost predict what he's going to pick every week. Hardly ever see him go for a high scoring game like 3-1, 2-2 or 3-2, it's all very formulaic and dull, that's why he's so awful as a pundit. Therefore With regards to Saints, I couldn't give a sh1t what he tips us to win or lose by.
  16. His predictions are so poor, only ever uses 3 different scorelines
  17. Decent starting line up, not many options on the bench. Massive night for Mayuka, we've seen very little of him so he really has to prove himself tonight
  18. Anytime scorer bets are void if the player doesn't start the game...
  19. It is a lot to attend a game these days. I'm going to my first game in two years when we play West Ham, Saints mean just as much to me as they did 20 years ago. Whilst I can't afford to go regurlarly, our results are still vitally important to me.
  20. Maybe time to start Ramirez and Osvaldo. We can certainly win this, most likely a draw though, which I'd take
  21. We need to realise there are going to be days like this, we all expect to win games like yesterday but it's not so easy. Only the top 6 teams are really capable of taking maximum points against teams like West Brom and Sunderland, we're just not at that level, which is why I thought a draw was most likely.Still, I'm happy enough with 4 points so far, don't think we've been anywhere near as good as we can be
  22. Very poor indeed, draw is the best we can hope for now. At least we have decent options on the bench, for a change Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  23. Not surprised we are losing, as I pointed out in the betting thread. Only a few teams ever get maximum points from the first two games Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  24. There's no value at all in betting us. Sadly, the way the table pans a out and law of averages suggests it is highly unlikely we will win today Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  25. To be fair Hodgson did pick Lambert when we weren't expecting it. He admitted Sturridge and Carroll were ahead in the pecking order. Having said that, he can't exactly drop someone with a 100% goal record at international level, can he? Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
