  1. Christ... does anyone really see this as arrogant? Hardly anything wrong in talking about a possible eventuality...
  2. To negate the "arrogance factor", you can also hypothesise IF we don't get promoted...
  3. Personally, I don't see it as such. I see it as ambition and well, a hypothetical, fun exercise. It depends how delicate some people are...
  4. Yes, I know it's a bit premature. Yes, it could be conceded that it might appear a bit arrogant from those of a delicate nature however, should we return to the NPC as anticipated, what exactly will need to ensure we can challenge for a second promotion? I had a conversation with a friend who wanted us to establish ourselves in the NPC first before we even thought about promotion. I understand his point entirely, but it wasn't for me. What made more sense was to build on the momentum we already have, recruit sensibly and use the players of high calibre that we've already got to give it another go next season. Besides, I'm concerned that if we don't at least have a go next season then we'll be susceptible to losing our stars; like Chamberlain, Fonte and Lallana as our ambition will undoubtedly have to match theirs. So, where are we short? Where do we need to strengthen? Do we need more impact players? Do we need an alternative to Jaidi? Has Dale Stephens warranted a full-time contract with the Saints... and exactly how many of our players can do a reasonable to good job in the division above next year? Realistically, I think that if we are promoted then I would like to think we can attract some decent, established Championship players who would compliment our squad and give us different options. So, hypothetically speaking, if you were Adkins and you were given £5m to spend on new players (aside from their wages), what players would you be looking at to strengthen the squad? Also, what players would you move on? The likes of Forecast and Pulis are probably a given, however, what about long-term absentees and fringe players? What of Connolly, is he worth another gamble in the NPC? And lastly, tactics. Will we have to adapt much, assuming we reach the Championship? Are our players inferior to existing teams in the league? Are we as good and as strong as Doncaster, Palace and Derby, let alone Leeds, Millwall and Norwich - who have all come up from the third tier and not been outclassed? Will we have to tweak our tactics as well as our squad to adapt, or will our current tactics with sensible improvements work just fine? It's fair to say that our current squad is arguably better than the one we had in the last season of the Championship but is that enough? I'll leave it to you to decide... what do YOU think we need to do to mount a challenge for promotion in the NPC? Or would you be happy with establishing the club first? State your objective, your targets, sales, tactics, observations and then your conclusion and prediction. Might be interesting to see how many of us get it right this time next year! Anyway, excuse the essay style, I'll kick it off by doing mine in a minute but here's the subject headers... if anyone care's to have a go, that'd be great Objective Viable Player Targets (In) Players Out (Released/Sold) Tactics/Observations/Starting 11 Conclusion & Prediction * Like I said, all hypothetical - I'm not taking it for granted as we're not there yet... but just assume we do make it!
  5. Whose the ****** in the pink? Classic... Never seen such a group of grown men get so agitated!
  6. Quite again here, too! PS: There has been quite a few mysterious deaths in Chiang Mai in recent weeks... bit worried about that, it was my favourite place in Thailand that I visited :-/
  7. Yeah, I think so now. Good point.
  8. I once wanted them to go up as they'd have an exciting future. That's changed, I can't stand them now. Their infrastructure merit it but their fans certainly don't.
  9. It's a shame Hudders and us both can't go up auto instead of arrogant, petulant, stupid, infantile, moronic Brighton. Best wishes Ace Tripper!
  10. Massive lol at the ground... AND the highlights; it's like Sunday League but worse! For all it's troubles, so glad football has moved on, even since 1993.
  11. According to the Brighton fans, the font of all footballing, worldly and cosmic knowledge, Poyet would have had us promoted by Xmas. They rate him (Adkins) 0/10, John Still at Daggers 2/10 and Poyet 10/10 for management skills. Don't listen to anyone else, they KNOW the real truth.
  12. Couldn't agree more. To a lesser extent Bournemouth, but my word, Brighton are the f()cking dregs. Tin-pot, small-time saddo's.
  13. I've never, ever encountered such a huge concentration of stupidity, ever - and that includes Portsmouth fans. I hope the Amex gets hit by a meteor and they have to groundshare with Gillingham again.
  14. LOL arrogance and stupidity in barely a sentence and a half.
  15. Spent far too long looking at their board today. Never, ever have I come across such a pathetic, paranoid, petulant, childish, moronic, stupid, ungracious, proud-to-cheat, thuggish, arrogant, classless bunch of d1ckheads. You can't even reason with them, it's just pure irrational hatred. If we were talking percentage terms, about 3% are objective and intelligent, the rest are all of the aforementioned. And funnily enough, pretty much everything I've written above is what we've been accused of over the past couple of weeks, much to our bemusement. As for the superlatives above - all deserved!
  16. So glad we beat them. F()ck, and I thought the Cherries were annoying, this lot are disgusting.
  17. More on the ***** here, and more delusional, weird, arrogant comments from BHA fans; a great read if you don't care for your blood pressure: http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?199751-Great-poyet-put-down-to-scc
  18. http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?199783-Football-league-show and on... Yeah, what do you have to do? I think you deserve the entire football league to give a guard of honour and suck each and every one of your players off for such a fantastic achievement. Give it a rest, ffs. Anyway, didn't they get a load of coverage last week? Anyway - and on... Yeah, it's a travesty. Forgot Saints dominating the game and the chances, let's show a dubious penalty appeal. ****ing needle botherers.
  19. And massive LOLZ at them standing down their ballboys with eight minutes to go. Dirty, nasty, petulant, small-minded club who'll have a couple years in the limelight of the NPC before burning out.
  20. You've summed it really well for me. One minute they're saying one thing, then another, totally nullifying whatever point they just made. And the arrogance thing... ****ing hell, reading some of the crap on that forum makes you wonder... sad thing is, most of those plebian needle fondlers don't even realise what they're saying is far more arrogant and offensive than we've ever been. Don't even try and reason with the saddo's as well... I tried that and failed. Absolute d1cks. I actually prefer Pompey.
  21. I bet they're praying we go up. Guaranteed sell-out. They don't get many of those at Nottarf.
  22. Objective, decent Brighton fan; as I remember them! Don't know why but NSC is overrun by absolute morons, can't reason with them at all. Good luck for the remainder of the season and beyond.
  23. lmfao!!!
  24. Shame it can't be Hudders instead of Brighton.
  25. Evil Saints do it again: http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?199760-Did-anyone-else-notive-the-SCC-keeper-have-a-go-a-two-women-photographers-.
