  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13540749.stm Doesn't look like it's worth it without good ol' Englands participation. Official attendance for N.Ire/Wales? 529, with a number of them Scots who got free entry. Shocking.
  2. I can never, ever understand that reaction; it's f()(king moronic. Do the people who are protesting really think Danny Wilson will not give it his all as Sheff U manager, just because of his past history with Wednesday? Pathetic, small minded and embarrassing. Besides, he's not a bad manager at this level and he'd have done a helluva lot better at Swindon if he hadn't had all his best players sold..
  3. Nah, he'll be in America on the Chelsea pre-season tour!
  4. Time for a bit of 'Thin Red Line' tonight. I have to agree with a YouTube comment I saw about this earlier; "When I was young I thought the Thin Red Line was overrated and Saving Private Ryan was underrated - now that opinion has reversed" I think I'd agree. I'd also agree with this comment: "watch this movie with your girlfriend, and if she thinks this was boring, then break up with that heartless *****, tell her to go watch a twillight movie"
  5. Totally agree. Have to say, I'm really enjoying the unravelling at the moment. All the greedy men who were faux-friends now pointing fingers at eachother. The problem is, I worry that nothing will happen. My biggest hope is that we leave FIFA and 3-4 or other big nations follow suit leaving the organisation in an untenable position.
  6. And irritating now!
  7. Most of those clubs who did despise us had HUGE chips on their shoulder already over nothing: Brighton (Adkins throwaway comment) Bournemouth (no definable reason, which makes it even weirder) Brentford (because their chairman f()cked up the ticket allocation 6 YEARS AGO and we refused to make alterations) etc... We'll see much less of it this year in the Champ with so many similar sized clubs. In fact, I'd imagine we'll probably get on quite well with the clubs fans in that league as we'd share similar aspirations..
  8. Oh... Surprise! He normally says that when he's lying.
  9. They're so brave, and poor, simple Steve epitomises that never-say-die attitude. Such a "football city", such hardy, passionate folk, they really have been dealt a cruel hand by fate. STFU The News. I'm tempted to go buy a copy, just so I have some toilet paper for later on.
  10. "And after THAT introduction, I can hardly wait to hear myself speak! ...Ladies and Gentlemen, it's been an emotional day - even the cake is in tiers"

  12. There might be some mileage in seeing AFC Pompey lose 2-0 to Mangotsfield though!
  13. The impression I get from those comments is one of "Haha, we've got one over you scummers!" without actually realising it's just a printing business that probably doesn't care who they print for. Besides, times must be desperate when you're clinging to a printing firm to do the mickey-taking of your nearest rivals...
  14. T20 should suit us as we only have about 20 overs in us at the moment
  15. Lol, that's a really good point, actually...
  16. Actually, like someone else said above very eloquently, it's getting irritating now. They should have been closed down a long time ago, but they're still up to their old tricks, flicking the v's to all and sundry. Their fans meanwhile continue to prove themselves the absolute morons we all know them to be as well, completely oblivious to the difference of fact and whatever comes out of their own mouths..
  17. Every single day they keep coming up with corkers!
  18. I think it's reflective of a fairly braindead society - I'm convinced people are getting thicker.
  19. I wanted you to be my manager, Phil. With your perma tan, confident posture and perfectly tailored suit... it could have been a great
  20. I concur with the above, from experience
  21. As the others who went to the 'Saints Legends' game would testify, there is already a huge case for human cloning at the academy
  22. Soup would probably be your best bet, I would have thought. And if you can manage it, fruit.
  23. The difference? Money? Better players? Better opposition? A more realistic chance of being able to win one of the Cup competitions? The possibility of Europe, perhaps, not every year, but at least an infrequent possibility. That's enough reason for me. Yes, I've enjoyed our 'ride' outside the top division but the novelty has worn off now. We might not ever become one of the top four but I sure as hell enjoyed watching Saints play the best clubs in the country on a regular basis. Anyway, who is to say that we'll settle for just obscurity?
  24. This. FWIW, we cannot afford to hang around in this division and 'establish' ourselves. If we go with that intention, or that we're happy with that, then you can bet that Lallana, Oxo, Fonte and all of our best players will be gone before long. We need to go up this season to retain them as beyond the end of next season, I cannot help but think we'll have quality players with very, very itchy feet. And who will we replace them with? Cloggers most likely, and then we'll likely end up stagnating like Coventry, Palace etc. We cannot afford to do that. We have an opportunity NOW. We have the momentum of last season, a settled and happy squad and with a few sensible additions, we can challenge. We must challenge. This is probably the best shot we'll get at promotion since we were relegated in 04/05. Let's not waste it. Worst case scenario if we get promoted is relegation - but relegation with an extra £60m in our back pocket. That's the time when we can afford to lose Lallana, Oxo, Fonte.
